San Antonio - Game 3 of
the Fall World Series continued the trend of one-run, come from behind
victories by Team White.
Down 7-4 going into the bottom
of the ninth, Team White rallied to tie the game before pulling it out
in the tenth on a base hit by Dom Robusto to centerfield, over the head
of Will Donnan to give Team White a 9-8 victory.
The game started out as a
pitchers duel between reigning conference Pitcher of the Year Noah
Soloman and redshirt Freshman Josh Fink. Soloman scattered 3 hits over
7 innings and punched out 11, while Fink matched him with a dominant
performance of his own, only giving up 2 runs and three hits over 6
innings. Both bullpens proved to be ineffective, with the majority of
the runs scoring after the 7th inning. Team White had a huge
game from Evan Jones, who went 4 for 5 with two doubles and three RBI.
For Team Grey, Kevin Francke, Nick Pappas, Will Donnan, and Paul
Knowlton all had multi-hit games.
Game 4 features a pitching
matchup of Tristan Heckerl and Franklin Bay, in a win-or-go-home
situation for Team Grey. |
