San Antonio - The Trinity
Baseball Fall World Series continued on Friday night as the White and
Gray teams met for game four of the series, with the White Team leading
the series 3-0. With a chance to clinch a World Series victory, the
White Team sent freshman RHP Franklin Bay to the mound against sophomore
RHP Tristan Heckerl.
The Gray team jumped on the
board first in the bottom of the first inning off of an RBI single by
Junior catcher Kyle Felix that scored Freshman shortstop Jonathan Hall.
The White team responded in the top of the 3rd with a four
run inning, capped off by a deep solo home run to right-center field by
Senior 1B Evan Jones.
Freshman catcher Kelly Woodruff
broke a 4-4 tie in the top of the 5th inning with an RBI
double to left center. The White team then added three more runs in the
top of the 6th inning to give them a little breathing room,
but the Gray team kept coming back. Sparked by a two-run single by
Freshman Jonathan Hall, the Gray team added three more runs in the
bottom of the 7th inning to make the score 8-7.
In the bottom of the 9th
inning, the Gray team was able to get the game tying and game winning
runs in scoring position, but Junior RHP Mike Panozzo struck out the
final batter to pick up the save and clinch a Fall World Series victory
for the White Team.
Junior RHP Waynne Warren picked
up the win for the White team, while Evan Jones finished the game with
two hits and 3 RBI, and Jonathan Hall finished the game with 3 hits and
2 RBI.
The Tigers continue their Fall World Series with a
double header on Saturday.
