Assignment Guidelines

Please follow these direction.  Not e-mailing your assignment to the appropriate persons will delay your grading!

All assignments should be e-mailed (preferred), mailed, or faxed directly to the Department of Health Care Administration to be officially recorded unless alternate arrangements are made with your professor.

E-Mail
If you e-mail your assignment to your professor, remember to copy Elisa Sanchez at Elisa.Sanchez@Trinity.edu.  A copy of your assignment will be printed out for our files.  Remember that e-mailed assignments must also have an assignment cover sheet.

Mail
If you mail in your assignment, submit two copies.  We will separate the copies in the office.  The duplicate assignment will be retained in the program office without the cover sheet; therefore, PLEASE include your name, instructor’s name, and assignment number on the copy.  If a lesson has been assigned by the instructor in separate parts, both parts must be submitted at the same time and marked as such.  Remember to observe any limitations on the length of your assignments.

    Mail assignments to:
    Attn: Elisa Sanchez
    Trinity University
    Health Care Administration
    1 Trinity Place, Box 58
    San Antonio, TX 78212-7200

Fax
If you fax your assignment, the faxed copy will be used as your original and given to your professor for grading.  You will then be responsible for submitting one copy of your assignment to the Department office, Attn: Elisa Sanchez.  Use the mailing address provided above.  Be certain to keep a copy of your assignments for your own records.

After Grading Occurs
After your assignment has been graded, it will be recorded and the original assignment will be scanned and e-mailed to you.  We will have duplicate copies of the cover sheet showing your grade (one for the department file and the other for the instructor.)

Late Assignments
If, for some unforeseen, unavoidable reason, your assignment will reach our office after the due date, please contact your instructor and explain the reason for the delay.

General Instructions for Preparing and Submitting Executive Program Assignments

A.  Time Allocation

Budget your time carefully, since a part of your success in the program is dependent upon meeting assignment deadlines.  Remember that you have other course requirements.

B.  Reading Assignments

Read the assignment carefully to make sure you understand the requirements.  If you do not, please contact the instructor for clarification.  In addition to the required reading assignments, read as much of the selected bibliography as possible.  If you encounter difficulty in obtaining copies of bibliographic material, please check with the program's librarian.

C.  Writing Assignment Requirements

Papers should be double-spaced, with at least a one-inch margin on all sides.  Use page numbers on each page.  Attach a separate assignment cover sheet for each assignment.  If mailed, all assignments should be printed, on one side only, on 8 ½" x 11" paper and stapled in the upper left corner.

D.  Cover Sheet

Provide the following information on each original assignment:
  1.  Your Name
  2.  Semester and Year
  3.  Instructor's Name
  4.  Course Name and Number
  5.  Assignment Number

E.  Assignment Copies

Provide the following information on each copy of your assignment:
  1.  You Name
  2.  Course Name and Number
  3.  Assignment Number

F.  Final Examinations

Final examinations will be administered during the period shown on your schedule.  On occasion, a professor may request that a final exam be proctored.  Unless you are a San Antonio student, you will not be returning to campus for these examinations.  Instead, you will be asked to send the department the name, address, and telephone number of the nearest college or university
faculty person who will agree to proctor your examination in his/her office during the period specified by the department.  If there is no college or university nearby, you may substitute a local high school principal or teacher.  If the proctor requires payment for his/her time, you will be responsible for payment.

In the event that it is absolutely impossible for you to take the final examinations during the dates specified, it will be necessary for you to call each instructor involved in order to receive permission to take the final at an earlier time.  Then you will notify the department, in writing, that you have secured
this permission and provide the date of your rescheduled final.  Permission must be obtained from the instructor at least two weeks before the scheduled dates for the examinations, unless an emergency exists.
