Amy
B.A. English
Trinity University

Amy, a native of San Antonio, graduated from Trinity University in May 2008.  As an undergraduate, she served as vice president of her Gamma Chi Delta sorority and was a member of the Trinity University Student Ambassadors.  Amy also founded the Concert for the Cure Foundation, a nonprofit organization comprised of Trinity students who organize a large, annual benefit concert for the American Cancer Society.  Concert for the Cure’s success earned Amy the Association for Fundraising Professionals award for 2008’s Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy.  In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, playing guitar, cooking, and seeing great live music in the Texas hill country.

Mary Ann
B.A. Marketing
University of Texas at Austin

Born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas, Mary Ann graduated from the University of Texas at Austin’s Red McCombs Business School in May 2006 with a degree in marketing.   During college, Mary Ann was an avid dog-walking volunteer at the Austin Humane Society and was also able to put her French minor to use by participating in an international marketing study abroad program in Paris.  However, it was through her volunteer work at Seton Hospital in Austin and Driscoll Children’s Hospital in Corpus Christi that Mary Ann realized her passion for working in the health care environment.  Since spring of 2007, she has worked as a business service representative for Austin Gastroenterology, P.A. in Bailey Square Medical Center.  Her personal interests include running, yoga, tennis, waterskiing, hunting, cooking, traveling, and her new puppy, Mack.

Jessica
B.S. Biomedical Sciences
Texas A&M University Corpus Christi

As a biomedical sciences major at Texas A&M University at Corpus Christi, Jessica’s interest in health care prompted her to launch a health society for pre-dental students, for which she served as president.  She had the privilege or organizing and participating in a number of community service projects during her two-term tenure as president.  These experiences strengthened her resolve to pursue a career in health care administration.  After graduation, Jessica completed one year of post-bachelor work as preparation for her graduate experience.  She is thrilled and honored to have been accepted into Trinity University’s Health Care Administration program.

Jill

Texas Tech University

A native of Hamilton, Texas, Jill attended Texas Tech University and graduated in December of 2007 with a double major in finance and economics.  While at Tech, she was involved in Zeta Tau Alpha as a member of the Program Council and as a recruitment counselor.  She was also a member of Omicron Delta Kappa and the Finance Association, as well as being involved in many charities benefiting Susan G. Komen for the Cure.  After graduation, Jill completed a six-month administrative internship at Hamilton General Hospital, where she completed projects and research for the CEO and CFO.  She will also serve as a graduate assistant for the Health Care Administration Department.  In her spare time, Jill enjoys traveling, golfing, and sporting events.

Kristin

Kristin was born and raised in Austin, Texas.  She attended Trinity University, graduating in 2008 with a degree in business administration with a concentration in finance.  While attending Trinity, Kristin served as the president of both her social sorority, as well as the Trinity Traditions Council.  She also enjoyed working with local charities, one of which gave her the opportunity to travel to Nicaragua to assist in providing health care for over 500 local residents.  This trip, in combination with her administrative work at a nephrology group practice, led Kristin to pursue her interest in health care. 

Jennifer
B.S. Business Administration (Management)

Trinity University

Jennifer was raised in Amarillo, Texas, and attended Trinity University for her undergraduate degree.  She holds a bachelor of science in business administration with a concentration in management and a minor in English, graduating with honors and making the Dean’s List.  She also played for the women’s tennis team where she was Academic All-American.   Jennifer completed two internships with the Methodist Healthcare System under the Chief Nursing Officer and the Vice President of Operations for the Children’s Hospital.  She has spent the last summer coaching tennis with Trinity’s assistant coach.  Jennifer also enjoys skiing, backpacking, and reading.

Alexandra
B.S. Marketing

The Ohio State University

Although a native Californian, Alexandra was raised in Texas.  She attended The Ohio State University, graduating in three years with a degree in business marketing and a minor in economics.  While at Ohio State, she was an active member of the Hispanic Business Student Association, served as a University Ambassador, and volunteered at the Ohio State University Medical Center.  Her interests include painting, old music, coffee, and cycling, as well as her cat, Trixie, and German Shepherd, Bismarck.

Jillian
B.S. Business Administration (Finance)
Trinity University

Jillian was born and raised in Santa Fe, New Mexico.  In 2007, she graduated from Trinity University with a B.S. in finance and a minor in Spanish.  During her time at Trinity, she interned with Denim Group, LLC, and spent a semester in Hong Kong studying business.  Her extracurricular activities included singing with the Trinity Choir and Chamber Singers, being a peer leader for the annual Sorority Body Image Program, participating in clubs such as the Sexual Assault Student Coalition and Students Advocating Gender Equality.  After graduation, she went to Granada, Spain, to study Spanish.  She later volunteered with the New Mexico/El Paso chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS).  She has continued work with the LLS chapter in San Antonio.  She is a graduate assistant for the Health Care Administration department and the recipient of the Newman Scholarship.  In her free time, Jillian enjoys time with family and friends, travel, and reading.

Peter
B.S. Nuclear Medicine Science
University of the Incarnate Word

Peter spent his formative years living on different military bases around the world.  He attended the University of the Incarnate Word, where he attained his B.S. in nuclear medicine.  Despite being an active journalist for The Logos, his university’s newspaper, Peter found the time to cofound and serve as president for both the Omega Leksis Debate Society, as well as the Nuclear Scientist Association, whose aim is to open conversation between the greater nuclear medicine community and its up-and-coming students.  Toward this pursuit, he created the annual Preceptors’ Dinner, which celebrates the bond between student and mentor.  Upon graduation, Peter joined the South Texas Radiology Imaging Centers group in San Antonio, where he is currently practicing nuclear medicine across the various centers within the group.  Peter currently sits on the San Antonio Society of Nuclear Medicine Technologists.  His interests include journalism, volunteering, traveling, photography, reading, and comedy.

Andrew
B.B.A.
Entrepreneurial Management & Finance
Texas Christian University

Andrew is a native of Wichita Fall, Texas.  He received his undergraduate degree in finance and entrepreneurial management from Texas Christian University, where he was a TCU Scholar and made the Dean’s List.  Andrew played varsity tennis for four years and was named team captain, Academic All-American, and received the Sportsmanship Award.  During college, he worked in various capacities at firms such as Merrill Lynch, Lockheed Martin, and AXA Advisors.  Currently, he serves as an advisor and part-time consultant for the Joey Rive Collegiate Consulting company.  Not only are Andrew’s parents involved in the health care field, but two of his siblings are, as well, with one of his sisters having graduated from Trinity’s Health Care Administration program.

Riley
B.S. Industrial Distribution
Texas A&M University

Riley is a lifelong resident of Shreveport, Louisiana.  He received a B.S. in industrial distribution from Texas A&M University in May 2007.  During his college tenure, Riley was active in the Professional Association of Industrial Distribution (PAID) and an officer in the Sigma Delta Honor Society.  He also served as an officer in the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity.  Upon graduation, Riley moved back to Shreveport and accepted a position as an Administrative Assistant with the Willis-Knighton Health System, where he was given the opportunity to take a leadership role on a cost reduction initiative aimed at improving their orthopedic service line.  In his spare time, Riley enjoys playing golf and lifting weights.  He believes he can fulfill his desire to help others in the community by becoming a hospital administrator.  As John Wooden once said, “You can’t live a perfect day without doing something for someone who will never be able to repay you.”

Christopher
B.B.A. General Business
St. Mary's University

Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Christopher has lived in various locations throughout the southwestern United States.  He completed his business degree at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas, in May 2008.  During his undergraduate career, Christopher held a number of leadership positions, including serving as: the president of Lambda Chi Alpha, a social fraternity; the chancellor of Delta Sigma Pi, a professional business fraternity; the vice president of records and finance for St. Mary’s Inter-Fraternity Council.  He also worked as a budget assistant in St. Mary’s Residence Life department.  Christopher’s interest in health care began during his summer breaks, however, during which he worked at Pioneers Memorial Hospital in Brawley, California, in various roles.  Pioneers also granted him the opportunity to intern in the Accounting and Finance department, where he coordinated the collection of data related to their annual audit.

Jared

Wake Forest University

Jared earned a bachelor of science in general business from Wake Forest University’s Wayne Calloway School of Business and Accountancy in 2008 with a minor in religion.  Administrative internships at Presbyterian Hospital of Denton in the summers of 2006 and 2007, as well as a fall 2006 clinical audit internship at London Bridge Hospital during a semester abroad, served to deepen Jared’s devotion to the health care administration field.  In his spare time, Jared was involved with the fundraising committee of the Wake Forest Senior Class Campaign and served as the scholarship chair and inter-fraternity council representative for his Sigma Chi fraternity.

Bennett
B.B.A. Finance
The University of Oklahoma

Bennett graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a bachelor of business administration in finance, twice earning a place on the president’s honor roll.  He spent two summers interning and strength coaching at the University of Wisconsin, where he gained valuable experience in dealing with people.  Most recently, Bennett spent five months as a youth pastor for his church in Oklahoma City, where he was privileged enough to lead a Colorado backpacking trip and further hone his leadership and organizational skills.   Bennett loves music (David Bowie is his favorite) and thrives on enthusiasm.  He hopes to make a positive impact during his time at Trinity University.

Vijay
B.S. Biology
The University of Texas at San Antonio

Vijay is a native of Lewisville, Texas.  During his undergraduate career, he studied abroad for one semester in London, England, focusing on international business at the University of Westminster.  Over the past year, he has served as an administrative assistant at the Jewish Community Center’s Early Childhood Center and assisted with the center’s National Association for the Education of Young Children reaccreditation process.  Vijay has also tutored high school students in math and science and chaired the budget committee for the Future Health Professionals Fair.  He was an active member of the Indian Cultural Association, holding multiple officer positions and participating in the dance team.  Despite all of his extracurricular activities, he was able to maintain a high level of commitment to his studies, earning himself a place on multiple Dean’s and Honor’s lists.  In his free time, Vijay enjoys traveling internationally, outdoor sports, and cooking.

Daniel
B.A. Psychology
Texas Tech University

Although born in Ohio, Daniel was raised in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.  He graduated magna cum laude from Texas Tech University with a degree in psychology and a minor in chemistry.  A highlight of his college career was being able to study abroad in Seville, Spain, in 2007.  For the past two years, Daniel has been employed by the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center, working with the accounting, purchasing, and payables departments.  Originally on the pre-med track – he was a member of the Alpha Epsilon Delta pre-med society – Daniel decided that his interests rested more on the business side of health care.  In his spare time, he enjoys sports, traveling, and live music.

Roy
B.B.A. Information and Operations Management
Texas A&M University

After growing up in Tyler, Texas, Roy graduated from Texas A&M University Mays Business School with a degree in Business- Information & Operations Management.  Throughout college Roy worked as a certified pharmacy technician at Walgreens, and was a member of Business Student Council, serving as vice president in 2003.  After graduation, Roy worked for USAA, a Fortune 200 financial services company focused on providing banking, investing, and insurance to the military community and their families.  Roy quickly progressed to the role of  Technical Lead in Auto and Property Claims Systems, on a 10 million dollar project.  He was responsible for direct technical leadership of 40+ developers and testers, 75% of which were outsourced.  Roy is eagerly looking forward to combining his health care and technology backgrounds to help transform the medical industry into the Information Age.   In his spare time he likes to play football, soccer, basketball, and volleyball.

Kevin

Texas A&M University

Kevin was born in Abilene, Texas, but grew up in San Antonio.  While still a high school student, he participated in the Blue Jay Volunteer Program at Methodist Hospital, where he first noticed his bourgeoning interest in health care.  Kevin then attended Texas A&M University, where he graduated from the Mays Business School in May 2008 with a degree in finance.  In the summer of 2007, he completed an administrative internship at Las Colinas Medical Center in Irving, Texas, and is currently working as a summer recreation leader in Dallas for Mustang Park Recreational Center.  In his spare time, Kevin enjoys working out, sporting events, and traveling with his friends and family.

Ricky
B.S. Biology
Angelo State University

Native to Texas, Ricky was raised in a small community outside of San Angelo.  He graduated magna cum laude from Angelo State University with a bachelor of science in biology and a minor in chemistry.  While there, Ricky was a member of the track team, Beta Beta Beta, and the American Chemical Society.  He has participated in numerous research projects through Angelo State, as well as for Texas Parks and Wildlife.  In his spare time, Ricky has enjoyed volunteering with many organizations, doing everything from little league coaching to helping organize community trash pickups.  His hobbies include hunting, traveling, and being outdoors.

Eli
B.S. Biochemistry
The University of North Texas

Eli grew up in Austin and attended the University of North Texas, receiving a bachelor of science in biochemistry in May of 2007.  Realizing that his aspirations for practicing medicine had waned, but that his interest in health care had not, he began working as a clinical assistant for the Austin Diagnostic Clinic at their Ambulatory Surgery Center.  By working closely with his supervisors and picking up on their management techniques, he discovered an enthusiasm and talent for process improvement.  Eli is looking forward to beginning the Health Care Administration program and learning more about his chosen field.

Zach
B.A. Government
University of Texas at Austin

Born in Edina, Minnesota, Zach spent most of his childhood in Round Rock, Texas.  He completed his undergraduate work at the University of Texas at Austin in May 2008, earning a government degree with a minor in business.  His interest in the health care field began while completing a lifeguard certification course.  That interest has only grown.  After graduation, Zach was fortunate enough to spend time shadowing administrators at St. David’s North Austin Medical Center.  In his free time, he enjoys sports and outdoor activities.

Chris
B.S. Health Care Management
Southern Illinois University

Chris, a native of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana, completed his degree in health care management while serving in the U.S. Navy as a Hospital Corpsman trained as a surgical technologist specializing in otolaryngology.  While serving in the Navy for the last eleven years, Chris was appointed to various patient care and administrative positions in health care facilities and on the battlefields of Iraq.  He was Assistant Clinical Manager at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton; his last assignment was in Al Taquaddum, Iraq, where he served as the Operational Manager for the Shock Trauma Platoon.  Chris’ interests include traveling, backpacking, sailing, golf, and spending time with family and friends.

Scott

B.B.A. Business Management
Texas Tech University

Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, Scott graduated from Texas Tech University in May of 2008 with a bachelor of business administration.  While attending college, Scott worked at several children’s camps and coached a youth basketball team.  Prior to his senior year at Texas Tech, he interned at Methodist Specialty and Transplant Hospital in San Antonio.  During his internship, he put together a physician reference guide and watched a team of surgeons perform a heart transplant.  During his free time, Scott enjoys basketball, weightlifting, working with kids, and following Texas Tech athletics.

Spencer
B.S. Social Science; Psychology
University of Utah

Spencer grew up a clumsy but outdoors-loving child in the suburbs of Salt Lake City, where he was a frequent visitor to the hospital with cut after cut that required stitching.  However, his early predisposition for sports such as skiing and snowboarding has managed to persist into adulthood.  Spencer earned a bachelor of art in psychology, as well as one in behavioral science, from the University of Utah.  For the past three years, Spencer has been running the school-based program for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah, where he had the opportunity to take the program and build it almost entirely from scratch.

Matthew
B.A. Economics
University of Texas at Austin

A native of Houston, Texas, Matthew went on to attend the University of Texas at Austin, where he graduated magna cum laude with a degree in economics.  During college, he worked in the Food and Nutrition Services department of St. David’s North Austin Medical Center and was also able to shadow SDNAMC’s chief operating officer for a brief period after graduation.  In his spare time, Matthew loves playing and watching football, basketball, and golf.
