Senior Planning Associate
Catholic Health Initiatives
The Senior Planning Associate is responsible for providing
support for CHI's strategic, operational and financial planning processes. The
position is utilized as a key analytic and project management resource for
National, Market Based Organization ("MBO"), and JOA activities
including National Growth Initiatives, National & MBO market level data
queries and analysis, MBO & National strategic planning, capital planning,
MBO Strategic Planning Reviews and other activities as needed.
Additionally, this individual will augment MBO planning staff to support
priority strategic initiatives.
1. Supports data acquisition, analysis and project
planning for MBO, JOA & National strategic planning processes, service line
assessment and key strategic growth projects.
2. Provides analytic, staff support, and project
management for national strategic functions and initiatives including same
store growth, new market growth, physician alignment, and National Business
Line development.
• Supports data acquisition and analysis to assess and prioritize target
markets and specific acquisition targets.
• Prepares market assessments and new market profiles
• As directed, supports the acquisition process and the transition of the
transaction to the appropriate operations integration team.
• Leads analysis and prepares industry assessments of new business lines
as potential growth/investment opportunities
3. Provides coordination, reviews and evaluates MBO
reviewable capital business plans.
4. Maintains the CHI community needs assessment tool
and educates MBOs upon request regarding use of the tool.
5. Responsible for data acquisition and analysis to
evaluate CHI portfolio as requested by senior leadership
6. Utilizing Thomson Reuters, Sg2, the Advisory Board
Company and other healthcare planning resources, provides information and
analysis of healthcare industry such as national and MBO demographic trends,
health care utilization, and health care finance (payor) data.
7. Works independently with MBOs, JOAs, and National
Business Lines on strategy and business development projects, presenting to MBO
senior leadership and boards.
8. Serves in a leadership role in the department
through development and refinement of CHI's analytic methodologies, templates
and standards to assure consistent application of CHI standards.
a. Education / Accreditation / Licensure (required &
preferred): MBA / MHA or equivalent required.
b. Experience (required and preferred): Must have minimum of five years
experience working in a healthcare setting (hospital, consulting or health care
firm), with experience in healthcare general strategy, marketing and planning
needs. Experience with database programs required, with demonstrated
proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Power point, Word). Experience
with Thomson Reuters planning products and MapInfo Professional is preferred.
