Director, Physician Compliance

 

 

Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) is the seventh (7th) largest health system in the United States, with operations in 18 states, including 78 hospitals, served by over 70,000 associates.  CHI has recently centralized the Corporate Responsibility function to better serve its Market Based Organizations and Community Health Service Organizations, located throughout the United States.  As part of this centralization, the new position of Director, Physician Compliance has been created in Denver, Colorado to serve as a resource for compliance staff and practice leadership across all CHI business entities.

 

Our client now seeks a Director, Physician Compliance to serve as the expert for compliance matters relating to employed, independent and contracted physicians affiliated with CHI.  The Director will be located at the corporate headquarters in Denver, Colorado.  The Director, Physician Compliance will be responsible for developing an effective system-wide physician compliance program including associated policies, procedures and a comprehensive audit plan.  In a consultative role, the Director will work closely with CHI Physician Services leadership, the Employed Physician Integration Council (EPIC) and the CHI Medical Executive Committee.  The Director will be key to identifying appropriate resources to assure an exceptional physician compliance function.  Similarly, the Director, Physician Compliance will work across the system to identify and systematize best practices.

 

Top candidates will bring a minimum of eight years in healthcare operations, regulatory compliance, risk management, audit and/or law. In addition, three years of leadership experience in physician compliance is required.  Candidates must demonstrate strong knowledge of physician billing/coding; experience in large/multi-site practice settings is particularly desirable.  A Master’s degree or advanced degree is required; an advanced degree in law, healthcare administration or medicine is preferred. Certification in Health Care Compliance or Internal Audit is preferred upon hire and required within the first year of employment.  Candidates must embody and embrace the CHI core values of Reverence, Integrity, Compassion and Excellence.
