NARAL Pro-Choice Massachusetts is seeking nominations and applications for a strategic, dynamic, and politically savvy Executive Director. Qualified candidates will understand how to develop and sustain a political presence that helps to guarantee every woman the right to make personal decisions regarding the full range of reproductive choices. The Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors and oversees NARAL PCM, a 501(c)(4) corporation, as well as the Pro-Choice Massachusetts Foundation, a 501(c)(3) corporation, and the NARAL Pro-Choice Massachusetts Political Action Committee, a registered PAC in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

 

The new Executive Director will partner with the Board of Directors, staff, constituents, and stakeholders to implement NARAL PCM’s recently approved strategic plan. S/he will refine and expand the organization’s member engagement and communications plan to engage and energize new and existing members; s/he will ensure the fiscal health of the organization by pursuing new grant opportunities and targeted donor engagement; and s/he will mentor and supervise NARAL PCM’s committed staff of five and oversee a budget of $500,000. The Executive Director will be an entrepreneurial leader with the political savvy and management expertise to grow a strong, issue-driven organization. S/he must be passionately committed to the reproductive rights movement and an exceptional communicator who can effectively partner with NARAL PCM’s Board, staff, and valued supporters in continuing and expanding its important work. The Ideal Candidate

Qualified candidates will possess solid political experience and a keen understanding of the legislative process; familiarity with Massachusetts and pro-choice politics is preferred. The position calls for a leader with proven fundraising and management expertise, especially mentoring and supporting a small but talented staff. Exceptional communication skills, personal presence under fire, and a collaborative approach are key to advancing NARAL PCM’s political goals. The Executive Director will be the key strategist for leveraging and engaging members and donors across the Commonwealth around reproductive choice; experience in membership, political, or issue-based organizations is required.
