1942

Bill Pitts and Charleene McWhorter Pitts ’43 were marshals of the 10th annual Fourth of July/Crape Myrtle Parade in Waxahachie, Texas.

Rev. George Walker and his wife live in Yuma, Ariz. He continues to keep in touch with Waxahachie connections.

1945

Harriet Collier Nauert and Collier family relatives including Jackie Collier Howell ’46, Doris Overton Hoylar ’47, Charlotte Collier Grizzle ’48, and Nancy Findley Hoylar ’50 attended the 136th celebration of the founding of the Forest Hill Presbyterian Church where Grandfather Rev. Lycurgus Clay Collier Class of 1878 had been a minister. He once asked every Presbyterian in Texas to give a penny for each of their birthday years to Trinity University.

1956

Kaye Adkins Arnecke, Carol Cocke Hoff, Lawanna Taylor Boyd, Joan Chatham Schrader, Louise Zimmerman Smith, Marcia Cheatham Ellison and Marian Stafford Sinclair reconnected at last year’s 50th Reunion and have been meeting for lunch once a month since.  They welcome others of that era to join them.

1963

Tom Sparks sold his company and is now working on his golf game and sailing whenever he can. He and his wife live in the Champions area north of Houston.

1964

Sandy Harley Carey is Assistant Governor for a Rotary International district.

1965

James Crumm has retired as President and CEO of Foster Wheeler North America. He was responsible for all North American and Asian operations of the Global Power Group. He and Kathryn Pluenneke Crumm ’68 are planning to return to Texas in 2008.

Bette Forester lives in Toronto and would like to share on-going connections via her website www.beedance.ca. She has done technical art on packaging for Wal-Mart.

1966

Jim Comer author of When Roles Reverse: A Guide to Parenting Your Parents, was a participant in a forum at the Chautauqua  Institution summer program in New York.

Barbara Anne Marx Stephens and a group of classmates held a great mini-reunion on Canyon Lake.

1967

Robert Ruckman of Dallas and Lawrence Waks ’75 of Austin have been selected by their peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America 2008. Both men are with Jackson Walker L.L.P.                                                                        

1969

J. Stephen Lay is with Webster University Thailand. After retiring from the University of Alaska, he worked for the United Nations in Namibia, photographed in Australia, consulted for the University of Zimbabwe and was senior editor/managing editor for the largest book and magazine publisher in The Bahamas.

Susan Masinter Riley teaches piano, continues interest in photography and theater. This summer she appeared in the comedy Lying in State at the Church Bistro and Theatre in San Antonio’s King William district.

Evelyn Hopkins Reiffert has been included in the 2005-2006 “Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers.”

Art Sundstrom has completed thirteen years of service as Senior Pastor of The Chevy Chase Presbyterian Church in Washington, D.C. He is moving to join his wife Sara Murphy Sundstrom in Hawaii who is a psychologist and works for the federal government.

1970

Ann Martin Herlein and her husband live in Hershey, Penn. where she teaches at the Milton Hershey School. They have three sons and one daughter.

 

1971

Diane Henderson Guzy teaches 4 year olds at Trinity School in Midland, Texas. She would like to hear from friends who were residents in Isabel from ’67 to ’71.

William C. (Bill) Mason is retiring after 35 years service in Baptist Hospitals in Texas, Africa, India and Florida in roles as administrator, president/CEO, and Chairman of the Board.

Laurie Themm Walker and Scott ’70 live in Wilmette, Ill. She has attained international recognition for her realistic paintings of wildlife. She is active in school, church and community programs, was a founding member of the Wilmette Arts Guild and was named the “Artist of the Year” by the Village of Wilmette. The Trinity Alumni Relations Department is proud to display Laurie’s gift of a painting of a beautiful tiger.

1972

Dennis Deegar has recently changed jobs. For 26 years he was at Capitol Appraisal Group in Austin and is now a vice-president with Duff and Phelps in their Austin office.

Chris Begquist Fulmer exhibited her art work at the Irving Central Library in September-October. Her theme corresponded to the Hispanic Heritage theme of home and shelter and the selection of Sandra Cisneros, “The House on Mango Street.”

Paula Patterson Haenchen has moved to Baltimore, Md. to become Director of Corporate Communication for Upper Chesapeake Health System.
 
1973

Markettea Johnson Beneke is primary administrator and chief business officer in Neuro-Oncology at M. D. Anderson in Houston. She is the recipient of the Julie and Ben Rogers Award for excellence in administration and the $10,000 award for her consistency in demonstrating excellence in her work and dedication to M.D. Anderson’s mission to eliminate cancer.           PICTURE

Brenda Foley Melton is president of the Texas Counseling Association representing approximately 6,000 counselors in the state. She has been a high school counselor in the San Antonio ISD for 24 years.

1974

Bill Parr has relocated to Shanghai, China where he is a Professor of Decision Sciences at China Europe International Business School, MBA program rated #11 in the world by Financial Times and #1 in Asia.

1975

William (Bud) Bennett III was graduated from Dallas Theological Seminary in May with a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies. He received the Charles H. Troutman Scholarship Award for achieving the highest academic average in his class. He is a Claims Supervisor with ExxonMobil Risk Management in Houston.

Nita Ellis Bryant writes flash fiction stories, printed on cards illustrated with old family photos, attaches jewelry and packages all to look like books. She lives in Austin.

Robert Peche has been appointed to lead the San Antonio Economic Development Department. He will focus on managing the daily operations and addressing pending economic development projects for the City of San Antonio.

The Very Rev. Douglas B. Travis will be installed as the seventh dean and president of the Episcopal Seminary of the Southwest in a Festival Eucharist for the Unity of the Church on November 8.

Toni Pardinek Watson and her husband have a boat rental business on Lake Lewisville in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. www.hiddencovepark.com.

Michael Van Winkle is a forensic psychologist and multi-cultural team leader for Kerrville State Hospital-DSHS. His most recent accomplishment was a presentation on his treatment program at the national conference of state psychiatric hospital directors-forensic division in San Antonio.

1976

Russell Budd is president and managing shareholder of Baron & Budd, P.C. in Dallas. He has earned the prestigious Wiedemann Wysocki National Finance Award from the American Association for Justice for “his commitment to the legal profession and efforts to improve the civil justice system.”

Serge Derbez lives in San Luis Potosi, Mexico and would like to connect with Trinity friends.

Maria Luisa Holmgreen pursued a degree at St. Mary University’s School of Law and sent a message to congratulate Trinity Alumni for the success of AlumNet.

1977

Jay McMartin, also known as author Clint Adams, is doing book signing for his novel The Culvert and will be talking about his next book Boarding School which is due to be released in January 2008.

Raymond A. Williams has invented the Tennis Xcelerator. He has started a company to produce and market the product.

1978

Julie Armstrong has retired after 25 years in the healthcare marketing and communications field. She is married to Randy Petersen who is president and CEO of Frequent Flier Services and is joining him in traveling to many countries and far-flung spots around the world. A book is in the works.

Leslie Blaine Bogar has accepted a position at Valor Christian High School in Highlands Ranch, Colo. as a science instructor in biology. Valor is a new college preparatory school in the Denver area.

Kimberly Floyd Davis has moved to Fort Worth and has joined Freese and Nichols in environmental engineering, continuing her work with municipal water infrastructure.

Dwayne Jones is the newly appointed Executive Director of the Galveston Historical Foundation which is one of the largest historic preservation organizations in the country managing eleven historic properties and the 19th century square rig barque Elissa.

1979

David Cantwell is active in real estate brokerage in Palm Springs, Calif. and has opened a new office in Lake Arrowhead.  He is a regional director for the Palm Springs Region for the California Association of Realtors, treasurer for the Boys and Girls Club and for Boy Scout Troop 199.

1980

James (Buddy #31) Byars had hopes for a large turnout for the Hall of Fame inductions of Coach Norris and Greg Lens.

1981

Alan D. Albright is Managing Principal for the Fish & Richardson law firm in Austin. He has earned selection to the 2008 “Best Lawyers in America” list based on his exemplary wok in Intellectual Property law.

Scott Oliver is corporate counsel for the San Antonio Water System.

Margaret Sartor author of Miss American Pie: A Diary of Love, Secret, and Growing Up in the 1970’s made the New York Times bestseller list and the Washington Post Best Memoirs of 2006.

1983

Linda Ferguson Grady and a partner are opening a Doggy Day Care and Boarding Facility in Coppell, Texas. Camp Bow Wow will offer all day play, web cams to watch your four legged kids while at work or on vacation. Chuck Grady has done a four year stint in the army and is now in the packaging paper industry.

Frank Guerra is partner and CEO of the firm, GDC Marketing and Communications. The “D” is Trish Haessler DeBerry ’87, the “C” is Tess Coody ’93 and the firm was chosen as the only Texas company among the 15 “Top Small Workplaces” by The Wall Street Journal.

Russell Guerrero received two awards of Excellence for magazine writing at the 27th Annual Headline/Proliner Awards hosted by the San Antonio chapter of the Association for Women in Communications. Both articles appeared in the Trinity Magazine.

Chuck Japhet  has been named a shareholder in the law firm of Oppenheimer, Blend, Harrison and Tate, Inc. He will serve as a real estate attorney for the firm.

Larry Ketchersid wrote Dusk Before the Dawn which was selected as a finalist for the 2006 Book of the Year Award from ForeWord Magazine.

Denise Barkis Richter, Ph.D. led a group of students through a 21-day tour of Spain this summer while teaching reporting and writing. They explored Madrid, Burgos, Bilbao, San Sebastian, Pamplona, Barcelona, Valencia, Granada, Torremolinos, Cordoba and Sevilla.

Kris Gordon Seiz has opened her own business, Storm Mountain Adventure Tours, in Cornwall-on-Hudson, N.Y. She has lived in the area with her two children for ten years. They package kayaking, mountain biking and hiking tours in the Hudson River Valley.

1984

Diane Allison is a clinical social worker in private practice in Dallas. She and her husband and two stepsons live in Frisco, Texas.

Colin Campbell worked as a digital compositor on Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, which won an Oscar for its visual effects. Colin works at Industrial Light & Magic, a division of Lucasfilm..

Barbara Officer Roeling was appointed by Gov. Perry to serve on the Texas Board of Professional Geoscientists in March. The State Board licenses the public practice of physicists, soil scientists, and geologists in Texas. Her term is for six years.

Robert Snell is in Tokyo, Japan in the Markets and Banking business for Citigroup. His wife and new son will soon be joining him.

1985

Sheri Southern is a poet featured daily in the Boulder, Colo. daily newspaper. Her poems can be read by going to their website at coloradodaily.com and downloading the .pdf version top of page three. She lives in Louisville, Colo.

1986

Kai Dupe is a doctoral student at Pepperdine University and Chief Learning Officer of UpSouth Consulting. He was one of fifty educational technology representatives participating in a State Advocacy Capacity Building Conference in Washington, D.C. in April.

Jon M. Foster is the new chair of the Texas Hospital Association. He is a Fellow In The American College of Healthcare Executives and has been in the top role of St. David’s HealthCare (Austin, Texas) since 2001.

Brett McHargue is living in London, England.

Jonathan A. Pikoff holds law degrees from University of Houston Law School and also from a law school in Mexico. He gave testimony in a lawsuit recently that has had an impact on foreigners buying real estate in Mexico. He lives in Los Cabos, Mexico where he specializes in real estate law and cross-border corporate interests.

Susanna Russell has relocated to Austin where she is the new Executive Director for Administrative and Human Services for the Lake Travis ISD.

Richard E. Sedillo has been promoted to the Lead Math Content Specialist in charge of the new Texas End of Course Assessment Program at Pearson in Austin.

Kevin Taggart had a great visit with Joe Ambrose ’88 and his wife, Deidre Halpin Ambrose ’86 while on a recent business trip to Florida.

1987

Martin Hajovsky has concluded his 15th year as a regional editor for the Houston Chronicle. He and Theresa Gregory Hajovsky ’85 and their two sons attended his class reunion celebrations.

Teresa Martin handles law marketing in Texas for Sedgwick, an international firm headquartered in San Francisco. She has run 6 marathons and coaches as well.

Lt.Col. Bruno Melton is a T-6 instructor pilot stationed at Randolph AFB. He and his family are happy to be back in Texas.

Bobby Patterson and Beth Underwood Patterson ’90 are now living in Leawood, Kan., a suburb of Kansas City. Bobby works for Sprint in the eCommerce group. Beth is enjoying being at home with baby Claudia and reconnecting with old friends.

Patrick Pringle and his wife, Patricia Phalen Pringle ’88 visited with Lawrence Yeo ’88 and his family in Sydney, Australia.                                     

1988

Yvonne Yruegas Burgett is planning for the 20th class reunion and urging all Sigmas to attend.

Jesse Carrillo has been promoted to Chief Technology Officer at Hines, a privately owned global real estate company headquartered in Houston.

John Hopper completed a master in transformational leadership from Bethel Seminary, St. Paul, Minn. He is the Pastor of Ministries at BridgePoint Bible Church in Houston,
Texas.

Susan Gaedke McGill is currently working as a costumer on the Fox Series “Prison Break” shot in Dallas.

David Rylander has been promoted to Associate Professor with tenure at Texas Woman’s University in Denton. He teaches marketing at undergrad and graduate levels.

Steve Smith is a classical music critic for the New York Times and the associate editor of Time Out New York, a weekly arts & entertainment magazine.

John C. Sullivan is the Vice-Dean of the Business School and Lecturer at the International University Audentes in Tallinn, Estonia.

Martha Imig Wilkins was part of a team of eight who led a Habitat for Humanity Global Village trip to Armenia and worked on two homes.

1989

Amy Turlington Chambers is the Junior League of Fort Worth’s “Old Shoe” for 2007. An honor awarded in recognition for having volunteered more hours for fundraisers, and has gone “above and beyond in her duties to the League.”

Trish Domengeaux is happy to be back in San Antonio where she has a position at the University of Texas in San Antonio.

Linda Lawley Leal is a chemist living and working in California.

Kirk Pillow has joined the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. as vice dean of academic affairs in the Corcoran College of Art and Design.  

1990

Jeff A. Bourgeois has been appointed the VP/Administrator for Christus Santa Rosa Hospital-Westover Hills. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Texas Hospital Association and the THA HOSPAC Board of Directors.

Lt.Col. Mark Criswell has been transferred to Ft. Stewart, Ga. where he is Chief of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Winn Army Community Hospital.

Scott Kauffman with the help of a partner has written a continuing professional education course for CPAs called Property and Business Income Insurance for Controllers, Accountants, and Financial Managers. More detail www.sbcpe.com.

John Krecek is the director of property management for Investors Realty in Omaha, Neb.

1991

David Bailey has relocated to Dallas after living for four years in Brussels, Belgium and Manchester, England working for ExxonMobile.  He is in the Investor Relations Department.

Angie Bryan has been appointed to a three year assignment as the United States Deputy Chief of Mission in Sana’a, Yemen.

Kristen Kobierowski Flynn is in Human Resources with iStar Financial, Inc. on the West Coast.

Will McBurnett has joined Total Immersion Software as a Senior Software Engineer. His wife, Joye Price McBurnett is a Senior Producer at Amaze Entertainment, producing video games for the Nintendo DS. They live in Austin with their two daughters.

Andrew S. Mansfield and Blythe York Mansfield with son, Ethan, have relocated to Santa Barbara, Calif. Andrew received a master’s of theology from Harvard in March and is now completing a Ph.D. in Religious Studies at U.C. Santa Barbara as a Rowney Fellow.

1992

Dom Flatt has been selected for promotion to Commander in 2008. He and his wife, Leslie Cate Flatt ’91 reside in Mill Creek, Wash.

Kevin Foyle is the new associate vice president for development at Rice University in Houston.

Andy Gum has lived in Europe since 1998 with his French wife and two sons and has been become a world traveler working as an R&D project manager for DSM Nutritional Projects.. He lives in Alsace, France and works in Switzerland near Basel. He wrote from Helsinki while flying from Shanghai to Zurich.

Chris Mammen is with the Mammen Glass & Mirror, Inc. and the M3 Glass Technologies companies. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has named the companies to the “Inc.5000” list of Small Business of the Year 2007.

Susi Beveridge Mapp has had her first book published by Oxford Press. Human Rights and Social Justice in a Global Perspective: An Introduction to International Social Work.
The book examines social problems around the world and what we can do to solve them.

Colleen Doppelhammer Stegman and her three children are “doing great” in Galveston where she works at UTMB Galveston as a Nurse Practitioner in Geriatrics.

John A. Tures and Beth Shaw Tures ’93 are living in LaGrange, Ga. Beth teaches
language arts at LaGrange Academy and John has received tenure at LaGrange College teaching political science.

Rev. Matthew Bolz-Weber has accepted a call to serve as pastor of Holy Love Lutheran Church in Aurora, Colo.

Betsy Ramin Winter has moved with her physician husband and their two daughters
to Portland, Ore. She is looking for a position in internal medicine.

1993

Chris Bowley has been promoted to Division President of the Las Vegas Division of Centex Homes.

Danielle Allegra Duran was honored as one of New Mexico’s “40 under 40” by the New Mexico Business Weekly. She works for the New Mexico Economic Development Department and was elected last year to the Espanola City Council.

Lisa Benjamin Goodgame and her husband visited with Angie Bryan ’91 in Lyon, France. Angie was serving her last month as U.S. Consul General there.

Brian Orr and his family are moving to National Capitol Region where he will be working in McLean for Booz Allen Hamilton.

Kristi Roberts left her position at The Mitre Corporation and joined the Foreign Service. She and her husband, Clark Shannon ’84 have learned that they will be posted in Tel Aviv, Israel next summer. In the meantime they will be in school taking several courses and learning Hebrew.

Roderick Sanchez  was appointed to be Director of Development Services for the City of San Antonio.

Major Chris Sheilds and Jen Mead Shields have been relocated to El Paso where Chris is assigned to Fort Bliss with the Future Combat Systems testing brigade. Jen continues to work for Deloitte Consulting LLP and in the R&D.

Kristin Scott-Tillery was accepted to a clinical fellowship in cardiology at Washington University in St. Louis with a focus on clinical and basic science research.

1994

Kristi Harter Button has accepted a call to ministry with the Children and Youth of Central United Methodist in Charlotte, N.C.

Dan Davis has received a MBA from Columbia Business School in New York.

Kathryn Miller Haines has signed a contract for two more books with HarperCollins to continue the mystery series set in the theatre community of World War II New York. The first book, The War Against Miss Winter, came out in June 2007.

Jennifer Smith Russo has moved back to Lafayette, La. with her husband and children.

1995

Mike Alexander and Meg Prince Alexander ’94  with son, Finn, are now living at 6412 Ruxton Lane in Austin. Mike is the new senior product manager for a software consulting firm and will be starting his PhD work in Information Science at The University of Texas..

Nathan Cone is the Director of Programming and Operations for Texas Public Radio.

Carlos Cuellar is working for a software company in Columbus, Ohio.

Pamela Clark Hicks is a partner at the law firm of Beirne, Maynard & Parsons, LLP in Houston. She specializes in civil trial work.

Alex Montoya has joined The Russell Investment Group as a regional director for institutional and retail clients. He and his wife, Heather Schmitt Montoya ’96 and three daughters live in Houston

Liz Ball Ozuna is the principal at Mathis (Texas) High School for International Studies, the fifteenth school in a network of schools sponsored by the Gates Foundation/Asia Society to “prepare students to be citizens of the world.”

Maya Raghu has been named Senior Staff Attorney at Legal Momentum, the nation’s oldest legal advocacy organization dedicated to advancing the rights of women. She is a member and former board member of the South Asian Bar Association of New York, and is currently a member of the New York City Bar Association’s Civil Rights Committee.

Tracye Shaw lives in Nashville, Tenn. and would like to contact with alumni in the area.

Kevin Skelsey is a partner in his ophthalmology practice in Lee’s Summit, Mo. Molly Armstrong Skelsey ’96 is a regional medical scientist in Kansas City.

Anne-Marie Smith has spent the last six years in Portland, Ore. where she lives with her husband and enjoys the outdoor activities of the Northwest. She is a forensic psychologist.

Heather Carlyle Spicer has made two big changes in her life, moving from New York City and a law practice to become the wife of a deputy sheriff in Austin and a career as Director of Underwriting with API.

Paul and Karen Whitney have made several trips to Guatemala to go through the process to adopt a son.

1996

Kristin Lobdell Bartholomees is now living in Fort Lewis, Wash, where her husband is a battalion executive officer. She urges us to keep our soldiers in our prayers.

Patrick Condon and Dirk Elmendorf ’97 are two of the four founders and executives of Rackspace Managed Hosting to be recognized by the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur Of The Year program.

Bethany Crome is an active member of the Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization. She is an editor for a publishing company in Chicago. She traveled in Indonesia last year and will be hiking the Inca Trail to Machu Pichu this year.

Elizabeth Cole Goodwin was ordained in March and is now the pastor of Gardendale Presbyterian Church, Birmingham, Ala.

Rebecca Johnson Gordon and Trent Gordon ’98 live in Grayslake near Chicago. Becca has served as solo pastor at Naticity Lutheran Church in Wonder Lake since 2002.  Trent works at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington in Business Development and Strategic Planning.

Suzi Hunn Gran and her husband have moved into their new home in Minneapolis. She works in teacher education at the Minnesota Historical Society.

Moira McMahon is leaving her position as assistant director of the Screenwriting Department at USC to join the research department for the television program, Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice.
 
David Olschki lives in Kansas City and works as a software developer for DST Systems.
He is finishing his work toward a MBA at the University of Kansas.

Marcus Owen and his physician wife have moved to Tupelo, Miss. He is a rheumatologist.

Heather Pemberton Ortiz has returned to work at Transocean, an offshore contract driller, and accepted a joint position in strategic planning and IR.

Sebastian Weiss has joined the New York law firm of Hodgson Russ LLP where he concentrates his practice in corporate and securities law.

1997

Jonathan Fink is the assistant professor of creative writing at the University of West Florida. His poetry has been included in a number of publications and his awards include the 2007 Literature Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts.

Beth Kelley Horine and her husband are excited to be moving to San Antonio in February or March of 2008 after living in England for the past two and half years.

Amy Turner Parodi and her husband traveled to Northern Uganda to complete the adoption of their three-year-old son, Olara Michael.

1998

Shannon Botkin Andersson lives in Redondo Beach, Calif. and is an advertising account manager for Boys Brands at Mattel, Inc.

Michael “Doc” Beeman has been named as the 13th head baseball coach at Benedictine College, Atchison, Kan.

Edward Belmares has been named Director of the City of San Antonio Human Resources Department. He will oversee the management of employee benefits for the city’s 12,000 workforce.

Kelly D. Black graduated from the pediatric residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and Arkansas Children’s Hospital in June. She has started a fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at the University of Louisville in Louisville, Ky.

Helene Benitez received an MBA from The University of Texas at San Antonio in December 2006.

Peter French is director of operations at the Plum Creek development seventeen miles south of Austin, Texas. Billed as “Uncommon Living for the Common Man,” this is a well planned community on 2,200 acres with many well-thought amenities.

Justin Mackie is touring Spain and will return to enjoy a full-time scholarship at Texas A&M working for a MBA.

Ryan McKeel is the senior writer/field producer at CBS 5 in San Francisco. He won an Emmy in May for writing. In June he began the AIDS/Lifecycle, a 7 day, 545 mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angels. The ride raises millions of dollars to help fight HIV/AIDS.

Drew Murray is Director of Earned Income Tax Credits (EITC) and Asset Building Programs with the Louisiana Department of Social Services. He authored a legislative summary and fiscal impact statement for refundable Income Tax Credit. Using his research and analysis, a State Senator sponsored a bill that passed and was signed into law making Lousiana the 17th state and the first in the South with refundable EITC.                                      

Chris Storms has accepted a position as a Business Systems Analyst with McKinsey Investment Office in New York City.

Heather Hoopingarner Thiel continues to practice law with a specialty in employee benefits. She and her husband have purchased their first home in St. Louis.

Kevin Weaver has earned a Certified Financial Planner designation and is building a practice as a financial advisor with Ameriprise Financial in Austin. Julie Bakker Weaver  has left her 2nd grade teaching position with Round Rock ISD to the position of “full time Mom.”

Sardar Biglari was featured in a San Antonio Express-News Business front page article with the headline, “The Next Icahn?” which described his Lion Fund investments in a number of food chains and his interests in Biglari Capital Corp.

Jim Brown was recently appointed as CEO of Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital in Houston, Texas.

Erin Mathena Camacho has returned to the United States after three and a half years as a missionary in Quito, Ecuador. She is living in the DFW area and will be attending seminary.

Stephanie Chiumninatto has completed a Masters Degree in Interior Design from Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, N.Y. and is a designer at NBBJ, an architecture and design firm. She is working on a new building at Massachusetts General Hospital.

William Consuegra is clerking with the Office of Land Development at Forest City Mesa del Sol, an innovative residential and commercial development in Albuquerque, N.M. He was recently accepted into the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties Leadership Discovery Program for Emerging Professionals.

Denise Sheldon Crettenden and her husband, Leigh ’05, live in Seguin, Texas.  Leigh works for the Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority and together they own Red Spoor Productions, a video, web, and graphic design company.

Rachael Martin Harlow and family are living in El Paso. She is a lecturer for Texas Tech University working on line.

Scott Haupert and his business partner were featured in a segment of the television program, “Texas Country Reporter” in October. They started a restaurant in Mason, Texas several years ago along with a vineyard. In addition to Sandstone Cellars, they now have a guest house. This year one of their wines won a bronze medal at the International Wine Competition.

Susan Hord Herman is now living in Memphis, Tenn. where her husband is the associate pastor at the Presbyterian Church in East Memphis. She works part time from home for the American Psychological Association.

John Justice completed the MBA program at Vanderbilt University and is living in Dallas working for an IT consulting company.

Julie Gauldin Koser has received a Ph.D. in German Literature at the University of California, Berkeley.

Justin Parker received The Burger Media Award from the American Volleyball Coaches Association for excellence in media relations.

Courtney Perry is working full-time as a photographer for the Dallas Morning News. She will continue to freelance on the side and asks that if anyone has interesting Texas based stories to pass them along to her.

2000

Paige Boyle relocated to Dallas and launched a freelance food styling business, www.foodbypaige.

Eric Dittmar has received an MBA from MIT Sloan and has moved to California to work in the Palo Alto office of McKinsey and Co.

Michael Hicks is an Enterprise Software Specialist at Dell in Austin.

Ryan Leecock received a MBA from Southern Methodist University and is working with Amdocs Consulting Group.

Melissa Ludwig wrote a feature article on hazing and the personal damages both physical and psychological that can result from actions that are of a “demeaning nature.” The article appeared in the San Antonio Express-News.

Jennifer Purdy Meads is working on stem cell research at Stem Cells, Inc. in the Bay area, Calif.

William Meek has accepted a position as Second Vice President of the Northern Trust Bank in Chicago managing derivative accounting operations.

Elizabeth Webb Roehl is a second grade teacher in Pearland Independent School District near Houston.

Jennifer Karr Sheehan has a new position as Curator of the Rare Book and Texana Collections at the University of North Texas in Denton.

Megan Gaiefsky Sherod has received the Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with a specialty in clinical neuropsychology from the University of Florida. She has begun a two-year post-doctoral fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology at the University of Alabama-Birmingham focusing on Alzheimer’s Disease.

Susan Jewett Simmons was graduated from Vanderbilt University Owen School of Management Executive MBA Program in May. She works at Bank of America’s corporate office in Charlotte, N.C.

2001

Lina Afeiche attended the annual conference of Health Outreach to the Middle East, a Christian interdenominational organization supporting fifteen low-cost Christian medical clinics and hospitals in Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria and the Sudan. She is nursing home administrator for Sava Senior Care in Houston.

Megan Collum has relocated to New York City with commercial real estate company, Grubb & Ellis where she works in the marketing department.

Caroline Finlay is the Assistant Director of Pan American Art Projects, a contemporary art venture in Dallas, Texas.

Kyle Gillette received his PhD in Directing and Dramatic Criticism from Stanford University in the Spring. He directed an academic summer program at UC Berkeley and then for the third time he taught a Shakespeare seminar at Oxford University. He will serve as a Postdoctoral Teaching Fellow for Stanford University’s Introduction to the Humanities Program. He has an article in the June issue of Performance Research.

Tracye Davis and her husband have moved from Pittsburgh to the Dallas-Fort Worth area where she will be working for the Veterans Health Administration as the Strategic Planning Specialist for the VA Heart of Texas Health Care Network.

Byron French had a Caribbean sailing experience before relocating in Austin to work for Maximus on a project for the State of Texas.

Sara Hatton received a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Texas State University in San Marcos in May. She is working at Children’s Therapeutics of Austin, Texas.

Robert Markley earned a masters degree in European Politics, Business, and Law from the University of Surrey in Guildford, UK. He is now a student at Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville. Summer of 2007, he worked for the defense at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in The Hague.

Maggie Moore McClain has been named one of the 50 participants from the Texas and Oklahoma region to take part in the 2007 Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program. She is in the Saitama Prefecture.

Benjamin Pasty is at Northwestern University pursuing a Ph.D. in economics. He helped produce a dance show at the Northwestern Campus over Easter.

Laura Samuelson was named Corporate Counsel and Assistant Corporate Secretary for the publicly-traded O.I. Corporation based out of College Station.

Jared Stanley was a graduate student at the University of British Columbia when he died in an unfortunate tragedy on Mount Seymour in 2005. The Jared Stanley Memorial Scholarship for Physical Geography graduate students involved in Field Based Mountain Research has been established at UBC.

Maddy York-Stephens is a media relations manager with Red Bull North America and handles external communications for their flight programs including the Red Bull Air Race.

Amanda Reese Terkanian has been promoted to Communications Director of the YMCA of Atteleboro, Mass. She enjoys living in the Boston area.

2003

Kevin Barnes lives in Fiji where he is regional sales manager of the South Pacific for the FIJI Water Company.

Jeremy Boyce has been appointed by NCAA Football to serve as program manager of the newly created youth program in New Orleans. He is also working with the Dallas Cowboys in hopes of making the team.

Matt Conner will spend the next three years in Durham, N.C. in a psychiatry residency at Duke University.

Yvette Paredes-Gonzales has been appointed vice-principal at LaCoste Elementary School in the Medina Valley ISD. For the past two years she was academic coordinator at  Castroville Elementary.

Kristi Zugay Hartman is living in Warner Robins, Ga.

George Wayne Matthews has accepted the position of Scene Shop Supervisor for Kansas State University’s theatre department in Manhattan, Kan.

John-Paul M. Schilling has left his position at the Federal Aviation Administration and returned to New Mexico to complete a dual MBA/MA in Latin American Studies at the University of New Mexico. He is serving a summer internship with the Department of State at the U.S. Embassy in Mexico City, Mexico.

Kellie Thames has worked as a Physician Practice Manager at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center since she received an MHA from Washington University in St. Louis. Relocating to Germany with her husband, she will continue to work with UPMC at their International sites.

Laurel Wineman has left event planning to accept a position as Catering Sales Manager with the Wolfgang Puck Group in Las Vegas.

 

2004

Daren Brabham continues to work toward a Ph.D. in communication at the University of Utah. His research on crowd sourcing will be published in the journal Convergence in February 2008.

Jennifer Haley began a Ph.D. program in Rhetoric and Composition at the University of Arizona. She is teaching and enjoying life in Tucson.

Sabrina Lea is working at University of Phoenix Online as an enrollment counselor. She enjoys being with Trinity alumni at chapter events in Phoenix.

Natalie Roetzel is the Executive Director of the Innocence Project of Texas. She has moved to Lubbock.

Silverio Sierra is at Central Washington University for a post-baccalaureate degree in elementary education.

2005

Jesse George III took advantage of a hot July day to sell snow cones and raise funds for the purchase of an A/C unit for a Palestine, Texas nursing home.

Sara Metz is at the University of Texas at Austin pursuing a master’s degree in Information Science.

Andrea Renee Rodriguez was one of ten law students who received a $7,000.  scholarship from the MALDEF Law School Scholarship Program. She is in the 2008 class at St. Mary’s University School of Law.

2006

Lindsay G. Calvert is a program coordinator for the Gilman International Scholarship Program with the Institute of International Education located in Houston.

Evan O’Dea and Nicholas Sramek are among 1,176 U.S. participants from 20 cities to take part in the 2007 Japan Exchange and Teaching Program. O’Dea is in the Gifu Prefecture, Gero City and Sramek is in the Okayama Prefecture, Okayama City.

2007

Adam Geyer has become a professional poker player in Las Vegas.

Lauren Everitt received special recognition from the University of Essex (England) validation board for outstanding performance during her studies at Essex.

April Reyes has moved to Alexandria, Egypt to teach 5th and 6th grade math and science at a small private international school.

Rachel Spencer performed in the role of “Lucy” in the “Jekyll & Hyde: the Musical” in July for three week weekends in New Braunfels and one weekend at the Woodlawn Theater in San Antonio.
