What are the key skills, abilities, and personal qualities necessary to succeed in this type of work?  

Love for business.  You need to be able to put yourself in the shoes of owners and tenants and relate to what they are going through.  You need fast work pace, a fair amount of detail, and the ability to take charge of a situation.  Knowing how much information you can gather in a short time to make an informed decision is key.

What do you enjoy most about your current position?   

• I love helping people with their business goals. Making commissions on lease renewals is pretty sweet as well.

• I have always loved management of people.

Most important/valuable lesson or activity in college that impacted your career  

• Take time out to enjoy what life has to offer.  Work hard - play hard.  Know what you need to work hard at.

• Know how to spot a good opportunity.  Always have the resources to capitalize on it.

What advice for someone entering this field?

• Spend a few days following someone around doing the job.

• You will be much more successful if you have a solid understanding of how a small business, franchise, service organization, etc. is run and what it takes to succeed.
