Our career fair brings prospective employers to campus to meet with our students and alumni seeking to explore career opportunities. The most important purpose of a career fair is networking. The main goals of any attendee are: meeting recruiters and learning about the organizations they represent, finding out more about their educational or industrial area and asking questions about how one gets started in the application process. Here are some tips to help you prepare for upcoming Career Fairs:
Know Your Objective
Do Some Preliminary Research Bring Your Resume -- but don’t force it on a recruiter who is not collecting them
Dress
Plan Thank them for taking the time to recruit at Trinity
Follow-up Final ThoughtsCareer Fairs can be intimidating, yet very successful. Shake hands, smile and make eye contact. You should practice, practice, practice to project your “best” professional self. Always stay positive; don’t take rejection personally. And ultimately, have fun learning about yourself, jobs, companies, etc.
