1. The presentation should be approximately 15 minutes in length. (This will leave approximately 10 minutes for discussion.)
2. Begin by describing the issue you are writing about, and describing the lay of the land a bit (i.e. what are the main positions on the issue, and perhaps a bit about the literature)
3. Continue by identifying your own position in relation to the conceptual geography you have just described.
4. Then argue for your position, by doing some combination of the following: (a) argue against rival positions; (b) give a positive argument in favor of your own position; and/or (c) respond to criticisms of your own view (preferably not just straw men, but criticisms that deserve a response).
5. Provide a handout. This should summarize the main points of your presentation in an easy-to-follow format. If you wish, you can use PowerPoint slides or something similar. If you do, please print out a copy of the slides to give to me.
