Australia Trip
November 2003

Just a few images from a recent trip to a conference in Canberra, NSW, Australia.

Picked up a Kia Rio at the Sydney airport (parked here at the National Museum in Canberra)

Me. You can almost see Parliament House in the background.

I stayed at University House at the Australian National University.

The National Museum (from a distance).
The museum had a very whimsical look from the outside. Inside, it was very impressive; much more of an emphasis on the overall aesthetic experience than most museums I've seen.

Weird floating ball thing at the National Gallery.
Nice collections of 20th century art, Aboriginal art, and some interesting Asian art. For some reason I was especially taken with a 1989 piece by Anselm Kiefer, "Twilight of the West."

A frog at the Sydney airport.
