      This assignment is to get some background on the context and uses of database programs by reading Chapter 9 (Databases:  Controlling the Information Deluge) in Lauckner and Lintner, ed., The Computer Continuum.  Then complete and turn in the even-numbered "objective" questions (matching, true-false, multiple choice) at the end of the chapter.
