Textbooks: New Practical Chinese Reader, vol 2. & workbook.
Requirements:
Attendance, class participation and etiquette 5%
Attendance is mandatory. You are allowed three (unexcused and excused) absences. For each absence beyond the allowed three, you will lose a half-grade for the semester. That means that a final A turns into an A- if you miss four classes. Miss 5, and an A- turns into a B+, and so on. (I don’t count the first three absences so please save them for emergency!) Being absent does not change due dates, and it is your responsibility to make sure you turn in work on time.
Homework—15%
You will turn in the WB homework once we finish a lesson. This part is graded. When you turn in your homework, make sure to staple them together.
Quizzes—35%
Vocabulary quizzes will be given before we start a new segment of the lesson. There will also be pop quizzes frequently to test your listening comprehension so you have to listen to the audio file as scheduled. There will be no make-up quiz or test so you need to arrive on time.
Tests—45%
There will be a test after every two lessons. There will be no mid-term or final exam.
