*On the Beach*

On the way to the beach to learn how to surf, we were grabbed (almost literally) by a guy with parrots.
He convinced Mom to hold them before the rest of us were sure what was going on.
Then he went through the rest of the family, getting everyone except Dad to pose.
Don't worry, the one laying down in Janet's hand is only very well-behaved...it's not sick or dying...
and, yes, having a bird on one's head is not only quite funny, but also quite awkward.

*Pearl Harbor*

                   

Visiting Pearl Harbor was an extremely sobering experience.
Gazing at the USS Arizona underwater and the list of all the men who died aboard when she sank brought tears to all of our eyes.
