Trinity Sweeps Schreiner Wednesday Night

San Antonio - Trinity's 12th-ranked volleyball team defeated Concordia (TX) University 3-0 on Wednesday evening.

The Tigers (3-0) won 25-14, 25-12, and 25-16 to continue their season-opening homestand.  Trinity swept Mary Hardin-Baylor and Schreiner yesterday to open the season.

Caiti Troyer led Trinity with 21 assists and eight digs in the match, also adding a block and a service ace.

Maddy Hazelwood and Catharine Found both tied for the team lead with five kills, and both players also hit over .500 in the match.

Also with five kills were Amy Mittelstaedt and Tayler Malloy, while Madison McMahon added four kills.

Meredith Erwin and Alexis Edwards recorded two aces each to tied for the team lead, and the Tigers totaled six aces overall in the match.

Found also led the team with four blocks against Concordia, while sisters Aly and Maddy Hazelwood added three blocks each.

The Tigers return to action on Friday and Saturday, hosting the Trinity University River City Classic.  In addition to UT-Dallas and Our Lady of the Lake University, Trinity will face Bridgewater College and 14th-ranked California Lutheran University over the weekend.
