The Trinity Tigers won their second
match Friday at the SCAC West-Central Tournament with a 25-17, 25-13,
25-18 victory over the Rhodes College Lynx.
The Tigers (10-3,
2-0 SCAC), ranked No. 14 nationally, will meet 11th-ranked
Colorado College at noon Saturday, and Millsaps College at 4 p.m.
Earlier, Trinity,
the defending conference champion, defeated Hendrix 3-0.
In the Rhodes
match, junior setter Caiti Troyer registered 23 assists and six digs.
First-year outside hitter Madison McMahon led in kills with nine, and
hit .750 (9 kills, no errors, 12 total attacks).
Senior middle
blocker Aly Hazelwood and junior defensive specialist Adriene Busch each
had 10 digs. Hazelwood was also the service ace leader with three. In
blocks, Hazelwood, senior middle blocker Ginger Haley and junior
right-side player Tayler Malloy each produced two. |
