Trinity Opens Weekend Tournament With Win Over Centre

Greencastle, Indiana - The 11th-ranked Trinity Tigers overcame a slow start to beat the Centre Colonels 14-25, 25-16 25-12, 25-20 Saturday in the opening match of the SCAC East-West Tournament at DePauw University.

Trinity (13-3, 5-0 SCAC), the defending conference champion, next meets Sewanee at 5 p.m. Central Time (6 p.m. Eastern).

Tiger senior middle blocker Aly Hazelwood registered 13 kills and six blocks. Junior setter Caiti Troyer accounted for 40 assists.

Senior outside hitter Amy Mittelstaedt produced 16 digs and one service ace. Junior outside hitter Alexis Edwards also had 16 digs. Junior defensive specialist Adriene Busch fired in a service ace, and junior right-side player Tayler Malloy contributed six blocks.
