Tigers Open Saturday With Win Over Oglethorpe

Colorado Springs, Colorado - The Trinity Tigers volleyball team, ranked No. 15 in the nation, shut out Oglethorpe 25-11, 25-14, 25-16 in Saturday’s opening match at the second SCAC East-West Tournament.

Trinity (21-7, 11-3 SCAC) concludes the divisional event at 4 p.m. Mountain Time today against host Colorado College, ranked 14^th nationally.

Senior outside hitter Amy Mittelstaedt led the Tigers with 12 kills. Mittelstaedt hit .308 in the match (12 kills, 4 errors, 26 total attacks) and had two service aces.

Junior setter Caiti Troyer accounted for 25 assists, and led the team in digs, with 12. Sophomore middle blocker Maddy Hazelwood blocked three shots. Junior defensive specialist Emily Hilliard shared the lead in aces, with two.
