Ginger Haley Named SCAC Player of the Week

San Antonio - Trinity University Tigers senior middle blocker Ginger Haley has been selected as the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week.

Haley led the Tigers to a 4-0 record at last weekend’s second SCAC West-Central Tournament at Conway, Ark. She finished the matches with a .554 hitting percentage (45 kills, 4 errors, 74 total attacks). Haley averaged 3.21 kills and 1.07 blocks per set (15 total blocks).

In the opening match against host Hendrix, Haley finished with a team-best 15 kills, along with a .750 hitting percentage (no errors). The percentage is tied for the sixth-highest for a single match in Trinity history. Haley also hit better than .400 in each of the Tigers’ victories.

For the season, Haley is hitting .321 (151 kills, 45 errors, 330 total attacks).

The Tigers stand at 19-6 and 6-2 SCAC, and are ranked No. 15 in the nation by the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association Division III poll.
