San Antonio - Aly Hazelwood, a senior middle blocker from Baytown, Texas (Barbers Hill), has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Co-Volleyball Player of the Week, marking the second time this season that she has received the SCAC honor.

Last weekend at the Trinity National Invitational – featuring the top Division III teams in the nation – Hazelwood totaled 31 kills (2.82 per set) and recorded a hitting percentage of .285 (six errors, 65 total attacks). Hazelwood, chosen for the All-Tournament Team, tied the team lead with three service aces and 11 blocks in the three matches.

Hazelwood led the match against No. 1 Juniata with 12 kills and three blocks, then had four blocks and seven kills against second-ranked Wisconsin-Oshkosh.

The Tigers then closed out the regular season with a 3-2 victory over eighth-ranked Wittenberg. Hazelwood hit .417 (12 kills, two errors and 24 total attacks) and led the team with three service aces. She also recorded four blocks to move into second place on the all-time Trinity career list, with 493.

Trinity (25-10, 11-4 SCAC), the defending conference champion, travels to Atlanta for the SCAC Championship Tournament Friday and Saturday at Oglethorpe University. The Tigers will face Austin College in the opening round of the tournament.  The tournament winner receives an automatic bid to the NCAA playoffs.
