Curricular Units Available for Free Download - Now in its sixth year, the Summer Curriculum Writing Institute (SCWI), developed by Dr. Laura Allen, associate professor of education, aims to support Trinity’s Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) graduates during their induction years. Organized around the central task of curriculum development, the program invites teachers to the Trinity campus for one week each summer where they reconnect, write a unit of study using Wiggins and McTighe’s Understanding by Design framework, and continue their professional growth. These curricular units are uploaded to the web for use by current students and the broader education community. Access the online units here.
Trinity Receives Over $2 million to Train Math, Science, and Technology Teachers - Two grants to Trinity University’s education department will help train the next generation of K-12 math and science public school teachers. Totaling more than $2 million, the National Science Foundation (NSF) grants will provide continued scholarship and support for Trinity’s Master of Arts in Teaching program.

TEaCH Lab for Educational Technology Dedicated -- On November 11, 2009, Congressman Lamar Smith, visited the Trinity campus to celebrate the opening of a state of the art teaching laboratory in the Storch Memorial Building. “ Funding is provided by an appropriations bill sponsored by U.S. Rep. Lamar Smith, R-San Antonio.
