Creating an SBEC Profile
Application for Initial Certification
It is each student’s responsibility to apply for initial certification with the Texas State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC). Registration will produce your identification number from the Texas Education Agency (TEA ID). After you apply for initial certification, you should save any emails you receive from SBEC that contain your TEA ID number or instructions regarding fingerprinting. Remember, you will have to create your SBEC profile BEFORE you register for any certification exams.
