Students work in
small groups with distinguished Trinity faculty members and college
student mentors. They engage in a variety of classroom exercises designed
to develop and hone such essential learning skills as logical reasoning,
critical analysis, and persuasive oral and written communication. Students
practice these skills extensively, and evaluations are based on college-level
expectations. Lively discussions of complex issues offer new perspectives
and increase academic stimulation.
Applicants
should have completed their junior year in high school by June 2007.
Additional criteria include evidence of academic ability, motivation,
emotional maturity, and likelihood of contributing to the program. A
Trinity Summer is designed for students of serious academic purpose.
Those who are planning to attend a selective college or university are
particularly likely to reap significant benefits from the program.
