• Summer Stipend Proposals:
  
  September 1: Applicant submits proposal to Department Chair
  September 8: Chair returns proposal to applicant
  Noon, September 14: Applicant submits proposal in electronic format to dsmith@trinity.edu: Chair sends e-memo to dsmith@trinity.edu
  confirming support of proposal.
  December 16: President announces awards

• Academic Leave Proposals:
  
  September 2: Applicant submits proposal to Department Chair 5 p.m..,
  September 25: Applicant submits proposal in electronic format to dsmith@trinity.edu; Chair sends e-memo to dsmith@trinity.edu,
  which summarizes a review of the proposal by all tenured members of the department and confirms the department's ability to meet
  curricular obligations should the proposal be funded.
  December 16: President announces awards
