Campus Safety

Your child's security is of paramount concern to the Trinity University administration, and our Department of Campus Safety is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for the entire campus community. Campus Safety supplies 24-hour-a-day uniformed police and security coverage for the University, 365-days-a-year, patrolling the campus by vehicle, bicycle, and on foot. About half of Trinity's peace officers are certified by the state of Texas, and have full arrest authority.

Trinity's location and campus design help maintain security. We are located in a comfortable, residential neighborhood in the heart of San Antonio, and there are no roads that cross directly through campus. This keeps traffic out and makes our campus less appealing to uninvited guests.

To maintain security, an escort service is available to all students who study late at the library or other buildings on upper campus. Trinity also uses a blue light system, with stations (signified by a blue light) throughout campus. If a person needs assistance they can trigger the system, which alerts the Department of Campus Safety immediately.

Like all college campuses, Trinity is not immune to crime; however, most infractions can be prevented by making safe behavior a part of every student's lifestyle.

Crime statistics are published annually and can be found, along with more information on campus security, at the Trinity University Department of Campus Safety.
