priority deadline for seating for the Tuscany trip is May 6.

Howard Hughes Medical Institute Awards $1.5 Million Grant for Expanding Science Education Programs

What’s That on Your Shoe?
Trinity University first-year student Claire Ramirez loves contests. She also loves to draw and she loves shoes, especially Chuck Taylors, the classic canvas basketball sneakers with the All Star logo made by Converse. So when she heard about a contest to design a custom pair of the iconic shoe, she couldn’t resist. Now she is the winner of the Punk Your Chucks contest sponsored by Converse and Journeys. more>>
RecycleMania Waste Minimization Effort Ranked Fifth in the U.S.
The “green” movement has hit Trinity University students, who have formed a group called S.O.S. (Students Organized for Sustainability) and actively worked to reduce waste and promote recycling, earning a fifth-place finish in a national recycling competition. more>>
KRTU 91.7 Goes Hi-Def: AT&T Gift Helps Trinity’s Station Join First Wave of Radio Stations Broadcasting in Digital Format
KRTU 91.7, Trinity University’s listener supported radio station, joins the first wave of radio stations in the country to begin broadcasting in high definition digital audio. The conversion to the new format was made possible through a technology grant provided by the AT&T Foundation. more>>.

Chemist Awarded Early Career Grant from National Science Foundation
Adam R. Urbach, assistant professor of chemistry at Trinity University, has been awarded a $564,500 grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to continue his research involving the design of molecules that recognize and label specific peptides in aqueous solutions. The five-year grant is funded through the NSF's Faculty Early Career Development Program, which supports professors who are likely to become academic leaders in the 21st century. more>>
