Trinity in the News Trinity University Surpasses $200 Million Capital Campaign Goal Trinity University’s unprecedented goal of raising $200 million to enhance programs and invest in students and faculty has not only been reached but exceeded. The comprehensive campaign – Dream. Inspire. Achieve. The Campaign for Trinity University – is entering its final month. more>> Pervez Musharraf, Former President of Pakistan Former president of Pakistan Pervez Musharraf will headline the Trinity University Distinguished Lecture Series at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, 2009, in Laurie Auditorium. His lecture is free and open to the public, but tickets are required and will be limited to two tickets per person. Trinity University Professor, Alumnus Open and Close Stock Exchanges Teaching college students about the ups and downs of the stock market is already enjoyable for Philip L. Cooley, the Prassel Distinguished Professor of Business Administration, but the highlight of his summer was being in New York to ring the opening and closing bells for two stock exchanges. more>> Trinity University to Host Geothermal Symposium in September Geothermal energy is clean, cool, and fuel-free. Given San Antonio’s debate about how to meet increasing power needs, the Geothermal Symposium scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 19 is timely. The session will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the campus of Trinity University in the Chapman Center Auditorium. However, check-in and breakfast begin at 8 a.m. more> Focus on Faculty/Staff She Rocks! Kathleen Surpless, assistant professor of geosciences at Trinity University, may be a sedimentary geologist by academic training, but her passion is solving puzzles. Not just any puzzles, but those comprised of rocks – once covered by oceans – but now exposed to the atmospheric elements after having been “sliced and diced” by Earth movements for millions of years. more>>

Alumni Events Atlanta New England Points of Pride For 18th Straight Year, Trinity University Ranked No. 1 in U.S. News & World Report’s “America’s Best Colleges” For the 18th consecutive year U.S. News & World Report has listed Trinity University with a No. 1 ranking in their “America’s Best Colleges” guide for 2010. Trinity was awarded the No. 1 spot in the category of institutions that offer a full range of undergraduate programs as well as select master’s programs in the Western part of the United States. more>> Links
