Baker Duncan Scholarship Application Procedures for the Studio Art Program

The Baker Duncan Fine Arts Scholarships is awarded to incoming first-year students who intend to major in Art each year. Awards range from $2,000 to $10,000 (renewable for up to eight semesters)

Application packets must include the following:

  • Application form. This can be downloaded from the Art & Art History departmental website, or can be sent by mail if requested.
  • Twenty images of your work in 35mm slide sheet or as .jpegs on a CD.

The work represented may be in any medium. If using slides, please number and write your name on each slide mount. A red dot should be placed on the bottom left corner of the slide mount. If using .jpegs, name each .jpeg file as “yourname.jpeg1”, etc. Please provide separately a list of images, with your name at the top. The list of images should be numbered (to correspond with the number on the actual slide or the .jpeg file name); for each image on the list include the title, material/media and dimensions. Images should represent the work as accurately as possible.

  • Résumé
  • A self-addressed, stamped envelope.

Deadline: The deadline for consideration is March 1st of each year.  Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.

Requirements: This award is renewable for up to eight semesters, excluding summer, on condition that the recipient becomes and remains a major in Studio Art, and maintains full-time enrollment and a cumulative 2.0 g.p.a.
