San Antonio - Two members of the Trinity University Tigers women’s swimming and diving team have received bids to compete in the NCAA Division III Championships March 8-10 at Houston.

Junior diver Lauren Walstad of Katy (Katy) earned the invitation in both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards. First-year swimmer Maria Lopez of Mexico City received the bid in the 400-yard individual medley.

The national meet will be held at the University of Houston Campus Recreational Fitness and Wellness Center.

Walstad won two diving events at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships two weeks ago in Crawfordsville, Ind. She scored 437.75 points on the 1-meter board and 472.10 on the 3-meter, setting records on both boards. Walstad was named SCAC Female Diver of the Year for the second consecutive time.
