San Antonio - The Trinity Tigers began their annual Fall World Series on Sunday at E.M. Stevens Field.  Each year the Tigers split the team in two and play a seven-game world series in the spirit of competition as a finale to the fall season.  In game one of the Sunday double header, the home team, coached by JC Bunch and Stosh Hoover, sent Mike Panozzo to the mound against Clint Robertson and the visiting Tigers squad, coached by Zach Fregosi and Nick Vera.

Junior catcher Kyle Felix got the visiting offense rolling in the first inning of the game with an RBI single that scored freshman John Hall, with Sophomore outfielder Nick Pappas brining in another run on a ground ball later in the inning.  The home Tigers took advantage of two errors by the visiting defense in the bottom of the 2nd inning to make the score 2-1 after two innings.

Down 3-1 in the bottom of the fourth inning, First Baseman Patrick Frasier led off the inning with a solo home run to bring the score to within one.  The visiting Tigers padded their lead over the next two innings to bring their lead to 5-2 heading into the bottom of the 6th.

Junior Third Baseman Dominick Robusto led off the bottom of the 6th inning with a double that began a rally for the home Tigers.  Junior Second Baseman Will Keiser followed with a single to center.  With one out and runners on first and second, sophomore Patrick Frasier came up big again for the home Tigers with an RBI single that brought in two runs to make the score 5-4 in favor of the visiting Tigers.  Immediately after, sophomore Matt Grimshaw tied the game with an RBI double to left center.  Two batters later, with two outs in the inning, Freshman Kelly Woodruff came through with an RBI single to left the put the home Tigers ahead after trailing for the previous 6 innings.

Mike Panozzo shut down the visiting Tigers in the top of the 7th to seal the comeback victory.  Panozzo pitched a complete game allowing four hits and no walks.  Despite taking the loss, Robertson pitched well striking out 7 in 6 1/3 innings pitched.
