Ten Burning Questions with Coach Taylor Childress

Coaching Experience: 2nd Season at Trinity
Alma Mater: Vanderbilt University
Hometown: Bainbridge Island, Washington

Left: Coach Childress observes the grip of a major league sinker
Right: Coach Childress as a member of the 2006 Cape Cod League Champion Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox

TU: What is the best baseball movie of all-time?
TC: Field of Dreams

TU: Who on the team would most likely win on Jeopardy?
TC: Britton Horn, with Teddy Wilson as my sleeper

TU: Who is the best-conditioned guy on the team?
TC: Brian Oates

TU: What's the most obscure place you've ever played baseball?
TC: Forks, Washington, it’s on the northwestern tip of the state, it’s a fishing town, very isolated, it was the only field or town for hours

TU: What is the biggest game on the schedule this year?
TC: The next one

TU: What major league ballpark would you like to play in?
TC: Yankee Stadium

TU: What is your favorite place to eat in San Antonio?
TC: Chacho’s, they have two in the city, it’s a great taco joint.  The first place I take people when they come to visit

TU: Who on the team do you predict will have a big year based on how much they have improved?
TC:That’s tough.  Teddy Wilson had a great fall, him, or Ryan Hopkins; he has worked incredibly hard this off-season

TU: What is your most prized piece of baseball equipment or memorabilia?
TC: I have a Ted Williams autographed baseball that my wife gave me right before he passed away

TU: Tells us one interesting fact about you.
TC: In college I had a customer service job where I called recently fired employees and asked them what they thought of their ex-supervisor.  The conversations were not always pleasant.
