- Trinity's men's and women's cross country
teams competed at the SCAC Championships this morning, finishing third
as a team in the women's race, and fifth in the men's meet.
Emily Loeffler was the standout
runner for Trinity on Saturday, winning the women's event to earn SCAC
Women's Runner of the Year honors for 2007. Loeffler becomes
Trinity's first women's runner to win the SCAC Championship meet, coming
in at 22:33.70.
First-year Caitlin Masse finished
third for Trinity, while Jennifer Burn was 13th overall. Masse and
Burn join Loeffler as All-SCAC runners for this season.
DePauw won the women's team title
with a score of 29, followed by Colorado College (49) and Trinity (59).
Rhodes finished fourth in the meet with a score of 103 in the women's
event.
On the men's side, Chass Armstrong
finished fifth to lead the Tigers, earning All-SCAC honors for his
performance. Jeremy Daum also achieved All-Conference status with
his 11th place finish on Saturday.
Colorado College won the men's event
with a team score of 37, and had each of the first three individual
men's finishers. DePauw was second with a 63, followed by Rhodes
(78) and Centre (89). Trinity finished fifth with a score of 129
in the meet.
