Tigers junior women’s runner Caitlin Masse had an excellent showing
Saturday at the University of Arkansas Chile Pepper Cross Country
Festival.
Masse placed
35th – in a field of 267 runners, largely from Division I and
Division II – with a time of 22:01.93 in the 6,000 meters. She
registered the second-best 6k time in Trinity women’s history,
replacing D’Ann Arthur’s mark of 22:02 at the 2008 Division III
Championships. The Tiger record-holder is Emily Loeffler, who ran
the NCAA meet in 21:31.
Trinity’s men
placed 15th of 29 teams in the 10,000 meters race. Senior Chass
Armstrong finished 58th of 243 runners, clocking in at 31:37.19.
Bryant Wright, also a senior, finished at No. 67, with a time of
31:47.01. Junior Zach Brush was 89th, at 32:30.39.
The Tigers will
compete Oct. 31 at the SCAC Championships at Conyers, Ga.
