Career singles record of 47-8, from ’62-’65.
Compiled a doubles record of 24-3 with Butch Newman, from
’62-’65. Won nine doubles titles with Newman.
Reached the United States doubles semifinals with Newman in
’64. The duo won the national junior doubles championship
while Trinity students.
NCAA doubles quarterfinalist with Newman in ’65.
Member of U.S. Junior Davis Cup Team from ’61-’63.
Teamed with Chuck McKinley for a 10-0 doubles record in ’64.
Played Wimbledon twice and many other world-class tournaments,
including U.S. Open.
Went on to become a major force in the tennis industry. Organized
and developed professional tournaments as well as health clubs
and sports centers.
A native of St. Louis, is a member of the United States Tennis
Association/Missouri Valley Section Hall of Fame.
