Trinity defeated both
Millsaps and Hendrix at home last weekend, remaining undefeated atop the
SCAC West Division standings with a 4-0 record. Saturday's win
over Hendrix was the 10th consecutive victory for the Tigers.
Charles Houston is now
tied for 11th in school single season history with 39 steals in 2008-09.
He already holds the school record with 57 steals during the 2006-07
season. He is also 18 steals from breaking the career record of
173, set by Jason Morris (2001-05).
B.J. Moon, in addition
to nearing 200 career assists and 100 career steals, stands ninth in
career three-pointers made with 107. He needs one more to pass
Jonathan McNulty (1992-96) for eighth place, but needs 10 more to move
into seventh ahead of Mike Cleary (1995-99).
Trinity will face off
against Southwestern University in its only game this week, traveling to
Georgetown, Texas, on Friday night. The Tigers have won seven straight
against their longtime in-state rivals, as well as 11 of the last 12
meetings. Last season, the Tigers won 68-52 in San Antonio, but the
game in Georgetown proved to be another typical matchup between the two
teams, with Trinity winning 53-52.
Luke Caldarera
continues his strong play for the Tigers, earning a spot on this week's
D3hoops.com Team of the Week. He had 27 points (11-14 shooting)
and 10 rebounds to lead Trinity to Saturday's win over Hendrix.
