Trinity Downs Ohio Northern to Finish Holiday Classic

San Antonio - Trinity's men's basketball team finished off the Trinity/Southwestern Holiday Classic with a 75-58 win over Ohio Northern University on Sunday afternoon.

Trinity (9-1) led 43-28 at the half, closing the opening period on a 17-2 run over the final 6:01.  After giving up a basket to open the second half, the Tigers then scored 10 more unanswered points to push the lead to 53-30 less than five minutes into the period.

Ohio Northern cut the lead to 19 with four straight points after that, but the visitors would get no closer until the final minute when the team hit the game's final basket.

Patrick Robinson was named the Tournament MVP, scoring 17 points on 7-12 shooting in today's game.  He also had 14 points in 18 minutes in yesterday's win over Wabash.  Nick Polidoroff was also selected to the All-Tournament Team for his weekend.  Polidoroff had 14 points and nine rebounds yesterday, then finished with six points and five rebounds in 17 minutes against Ohio Northern.

B.J. Moon and Dwight Lutz also scored in double figures, adding 13 and 10 points, respectively.  Moon hit 4-8 from the field - including a buzzer-beating three-pointer to finish the first half.  Lutz also hit a pair of threes in 13 minutes off the bench.

Luke Caldarera chipped in with nine points and seven rebounds, while Charles Houston led the team with eight boards in today's win.

Kyle Gehle scored 24 points for Ohio Northern, while Jake Cannan added 10 points and five rebounds.  Both players were also named to the All-Tournament team, as well Southwestern's Matt Caplan and Wabash's Earl Rooks.
