Trinity's men's basketball team opened up the 2007-08 regular season
with a 64-53 win over Ohio Wesleyan University on Saturday night at the
Midway Classic.
Trinity (1-0) led 38-26 at the break, holding Ohio
Wesleyan to just 24% (6-25) shooting. The Tigers out-shot Ohio
Wesleyan 46.5% to 30% for the game, though Trinity was out-rebounded by
one (29-28).
Trinity's B.J. Moon scored 19 points on 6-11
shooting to lead all scorers, while Charles Houston finished with 16
points and a game-high eight rebounds. Houston hit 5-10 from the
field and 4-5 from the foul line, as well as hitting both of his
three-point tries. Moon nailed 1-3 from distance and 6-7 free
throws, and also led the team with three assists.
Nick Polidoroff came off the bench to scored 14
points in just 17 minutes of action, hitting 6-7 from the field and
grabbing two rebounds.
Dustin Rudegeair led Ohio Wesleyan with 13 points
and eight rebounds, also dishing out three assists.
Trinity will face hosting University of Chicago in
the Midway Classic Championship at 5:00 p.m. tomorrow. The Tigers
will host Texas Lutheran in the home opener on Tuesday, November 20, at
7:30 p.m.
