Trinity Blanks UT-Dallas to Open Road Schedule

 

Richardson, Texas - The Trinity men's soccer team earned its first shutout of the season with a 5-0 road win over the University of Texas-Dallas on Friday evening.

Trinity (3-0) scored twice in the first 24 minutes to take a 2-0 halftime lead, then added three more after the break for the final score.

Ben Stewart finished with three assists in the game, helping on each of the first three goals.

Tyrone Petrakis scored both of the goals in the first half - the first of which came in the 16th minute of the game. 

German Gomez assisted on the game's fourth goal, scored on a long breakaway by Matt Beham.  Cameron Hogsett secured his first collegiate goal in the 88th minute, assisted by fellow first-year Tommy Baros.

Trinity will face Hardin-Simmons tomorrow evening in a neutral game at UT-Dallas.
