Trinity Defeats DePauw Sunday Afternoon

San Antonio - Trinity first-year forward Alan Castillejos scored his first goal of the season as the Tigers beat DePauw 1-0 Sunday afternoon in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference game.

The Tigers, ranked No. 10 in the nation, improved to 10-1-2, and remained undefeated in the SCAC with a 5-0-0 record. The DePauw Tigers now stand at 7-4-1 and 4-3-0 SCAC.

Castillejos scored the goal in the 67th minute, off a corner kick served by sophomore midfielder Nima Naderi. It marked Naderi’s fifth assist of the season, which leads the Tiger squad. Senior goalkeeper Patrick Johnson made three saves and upped his total to 33. Johnson and the Tigers now have seven shutouts, including a 1-0 SCAC home win last Friday over Centre.

The Tigers, defending SCAC champions, continue their conference campaign next Saturday by hosting Southwestern at 8 p.m.
