Trinity Defeats Centre to Finish SCAC Weekend

San Antonio - Trinity's men's soccer team defeated Centre College 2-0 on Sunday afternoon, finishing off an unbeaten weekend of SCAC action.

Trinity (15-0, 7-0) scored twice late in the first half to pull ahead, and never looked back in this game.

First-year Cameron Hogsett scored the eventual game-winner in the 32nd minute of action, followed by a Tyrone Petrakis goal just over five minutes later.

Hogsett took a pass from Kyle Altman and buried it in the back of the net, while Petrakis scored on a corner kick.  Joseph DeCosta's corner sailed in front of the net, and was headed to Petrakis by way of Matt Beham.

Trinity out-shot Centre 27-5 in the game, and the shutout is the 10th of the year for the Tigers.  David Steinberg recorded a pair of saves to preserve the shutout, which was the sixth consecutive game that Trinity has not allowed a goal.

Trinity will travel to Sewanee and Oglethorpe next weekend, followed by the regular season home finale against Southwestern on November 2.
