Trinity Defeats Colorado College With Third Straight Shutout

Colorado Springs, Colorado - Trinity's men's soccer team won for the third straight game with a shutout on Friday afternoon, defeating Colorado College 2-0.

Trinity (12-0-0, 4-0-0) remains undefeated atop the SCAC standings with the win.  The Texas Tigers are 4-3 against Colorado College under Head Coach Paul McGinlay, having won four consecutive meetings.

Trinity led 1-0 at the half after Patrick Floeck scored in the 17th minute.  It was the 11th goal of the year for Floeck, who leads the team.  The score also proved to be the game-winner, which is the third of the year for the junior forward.

Noe Casanova and Ben Stewart assisted on the goal, with Stewart inching closer and closer to second place on the career assists list in school history.

Matt Beham added the insurance goal in the 80th minute of the game, assisted by NSCAA All-American Tyrone Petrakis.

Trinity out-shot Colorado College 15-2 in the game, and held a slim 5-3 lead on corner kicks.

Only one Colorado College shot was on goal, which resulted in a save for Tiger goalkeeper David Steinberg.  Steinberg has allowed just four goals in over 800 minutes in net for the Tigers.

Trinity will travel to Sherman, Texas, for another SCAC matchup on Sunday afternoon.  The Tigers take on Austin College at 2:00 p.m.
