Trinity's men's soccer team opened up its Southern Collegiate Athletic
Conference schedule with a 10-0 win over Millsaps College on Fridya
night.
Trinity (7-0-0, 1-0-0 SCAC)
led 4-0 at the half, and out-shot Millsaps 31-2 for the full 90 minutes
of the game.
Robert C'deBaca scored the
eventual game-winner in the 13th minute on an assist from Noe Casanova.
Casanova went on to have two assists and a goal in the game, while
C'deBaca added another goal and an assist.
German Gomez scored his second
career hat trick at Trinity with three goals in this game. He
scored in the 36th and 39th minutes to take the game from 2-0 to 4-0 by
the end of the first period. Gomez also scored the game's final
goal in the 76th minute.
Patrick Floeck also had a goal
in the 25th minute of play, followed by C'deBaca's second goal in the
49th minute. Casanova scored his goal less than one minute later,
then Ben Stewart netted his second goal of the year in the 54th minute.
Ben Grossman followed Stewart
with two straight goals in the 62nd and 64th minutes, assisted by
C'deBaca and Joseph DeCosta. Also recording assists were Matt
Beham and Cameron Hogsett.
Trinity will face SCAC
newcomer Birmingham-Southern College on Sunday afternoon.
Birmingham is in transition from Division I to Division III, which means
that the games will not count in the SCAC standings.
