Trinity Downs Pacific Lutheran Sunday

San Antonio - Trinity's men's soccer team defeated Pacific Lutheran University 3-1 on Sunday afternoon, finishing off the opening weekend of the 2007 season.

Patrick Floeck opened the scoring with a goal in the ninth minute, then added another score early in the second half.

Noe Casanova and Kyle Altman both assisted on the first Floeck goal - off of a corner kick - and Altman also assisted on Floeck's second goal.

Sophomore Chris Schardon scored his first career goal in the 39th minute of the game, with Tyrone Petrakis assisting.

Trinity out-shot Pacific Lutheran 20-10, and held a 9-5 edge in corner kicks.
