Trinity's men's soccer team opened up its 2008 season with a 3-2 overtime victory over the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor on Friday afternoon in Georgetown, Texas.  More to come...

Kyle Altman Drafted by Major League Soccer's New England Revolution
Trinity All-American Kyle Altman has been selected in the 2008 MLS Supplemental Draft by the New England Revolution of Major League Soccer.  Altman, a two-time NSCAA All-American and 2007 team captain, led the Tigers to the NCAA Division III Finals last fall.

Head Coach Paul McGinlay Named Regional Coach of the Year
Trinity men's soccer coach Paul McGinlay was named the NSCAA South Central Region Coach of the Year after leading the team to the Division III Championship game this season.  Trinity finished the year with a 23-1 record, losing only in the final game on penalty kicks against Middlebury (VT) College.

Three Men's Soccer Players Earn NSCAA All-America Honors
The Tiger men's soccer team had three players earn NSCAA All-America honors following their performance this season.  Kyle Altman was named to the 1st Team for the second straight season, while Thomas Owens and Tyrone Petrakis earned 2nd Team honors.

Trinity's men's soccer team placed four players on the NSCAA All-South Central Region First Team.  Kyle Altman, Thomas Owens, Tyrone Petrakis, and Michael Robertson all earned All-Region honors.

Tigers Fall Just Short in Championship Game Against Middlebury
Trinity's men's soccer team battled Middlebury College to a scoreless tie through regulation and two overtimes, but the Tigers were unable to win their second NCAA title on Saturday night.  Middlebury edged Trinity 4-3 in penalty kicks to decide the Division III Championship.

The Tiger men's soccer team beat defending champion Messiah (PA) College 1-0 in the NCAA Semifinals on Friday evening in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.  Trinity will face either Middlebury or Loras in tomorrow's title game at 5:00 p.m. (CT).

The Tiger men's soccer team advanced to the NCAA Semifinals for the third time since 2002, beating Washington (MO) University 2-1 in the quarterfinals in St. Louis, Missouri.  Tyrone Petrakis scored his second consecutive game-winner.

Tigers Defeat UW-Oshkosh to Advance to Sectional Final Sunday
Trinity's men's soccer team defeated the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh 2-1 on Saturday, advancing to tomorrow's Sectional Final.  The Tigers are in the NCAA Quarterfinals for the second time in three seasons.  Tyrone Petrakis scored the eventual game-winner on a header in the 40th minute.

Trinity Men Sweep Top Honors Among All-SCAC Selections
The Tiger men's soccer team swept the top honors for the 2007 season in the All-SCAC selections, released by the conference this week.  Patrick Floeck was the Offensive Player of the Year, Kyle Altman was a repeat winner of the Defensive Player of the Year award, and Coach Paul McGinlay was also named co-Coach of the Year.  Eight total men's players earned All-SCAC honors for the season.

Trinity's men's soccer team will be playing at Washington (MO) University in St. Louis, Missouri for the NCAA Sectionals this weekend.  The Tigers face University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, with the winner advancing to the NCAA Quarterfinals on Sunday - also at Washington.

Trinity's men's soccer team defeated Principia 4-0 on Saturday night to advance past the second round of the NCAA playoffs.  The Tigers scored three goals in less than four minutes to start the second half of play, after leading 1-0 at halftime.

Trinity's men's soccer will host the University of Texas-Dallas in the first round of the NCAA playoffs on Wednesday night.  The game will kick off at 6:00 p.m.  Ticket prices are $6 for adults/gen. admission, $3 for students, and $2 for children 12 and under.
