September 28, 2008 Trinity Men Sweep ITA Regional Titles

Trinity's men's tennis team swept the ITA Regional Singles and Doubles
Championships on Sunday afternoon, finishing off a three-day tournament
in style today at Delavan Tennis Stadium. The Trinity doubles team of sophomores Bobby Cocanaugher and Cory Kowal won for the second consecutive year. Cocanaugher and Kowal, who came into the tournament as the No. 2 seeded doubles team, defeated Crisanto Ramirez and Andrew Hoing 6-0, 6-2 in an all-Trinity final on Sunday. First-year Max Frey won the singles tournament by beating second seed Robert Sajovich of UT-Tyler 4-6, 6-4, 2-1 retired (injury). Frey will join Cocanaugher and Kowal at the ITA National Small College Championships October 16-19 at Mobile, Alabama. |
