| San Antonio –
Trinity's men's tennis team earned a 9-0 win over Austin College on
Saturday afternoon, giving the team a sweep of Saturday's action at
Delavan Tennis Stadium. Trinity (13-3)
defeated Southwestern earlier today by the final of 9-0 as well.
The win over Austin gives the Tigers 10 wins in 11 matches - including
five consecutive.
The Tigers pulled off the win with plenty of new
faces, giving a handful of players their first action of the season.
Ryan DeSantis took the win at No. 1 singles, and
was the only singles player not also in action in the doubles
competition. Varun Munjal teamed with Patrick Disney for a win at
No. 1 doubles, but Munjal did not play in the singles draw. Disney
did, though, taking the win at No. 3 singles.
Jose Borges won at No. 2 singles, while doubles
partners Jeremy Gold and David Lesko also scored singles wins at No. 4
and No. 5, respectively. Borges and Michael Breitweiser teamed up
to win 8-1 at No. 2 doubles, and Breitweiser also won at No. 6 singles.
Trinity travels to Abilene, Texas next Saturday to
take on Hardin-Simmons University in the regular season finale for the
Tigers. |
