Tiger Men Back in Quarterfinals With Win Over Johns Hopkins

 

Fredericksburg, Virginia – Trinity's men's tennis team advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals for the sixth consecutive season with a 5-1 win over Johns Hopkins University on Sunday at the University of Mary Washington.

Trinity (18-4) won two out of three doubles matches, then sealed the match with wins at No. 2, No. 3, and No. 5 singles.

James Furr and D.J. Petros won at No. 2 doubles, while Crisanto Ramirez and David Tran secured a win at the No. 3 position.  Petros also won his singles match at No. 2, while James Furr (No. 3) and Varun Munjal (No. 5) also won in singles play.

Oliver Gaines, David Tran, and Crisanto Ramirez were all one set up in their singles matches, which did not finish because the team match was over.

Trinity will face Emory University on May 15 in the NCAA Quarterfinals, which will be held at Washington (Mo.) University at 9:00 a.m.
