Top Seed Tigers Open SCAC Championships With Win

 

Waco, Texas – Trinity's men's tennis team opened its part in the 2007 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships with a 9-0 shutout win over Southwestern University on Friday afternoon.

Trinity (15-3) won all three doubles and all three singles matches in straight sets to advance to tomorrow's SCAC Semifinals.  The Tigers have won 13 consecutive SCAC Championships, dating back to the 1994 season. 

David Tran won his team-leading 15th singles match, while Varun Munjal improved to 14-3 with a win at No. 5 singles.

Trinity, the tournament's top seed, will take on No. 4 Sewanee for a shot at the SCAC title on Sunday afternoon.
