| San Antonio –
Trinity's men's tennis team finished off its second win of the day with
a 9-0 sweep of Schreiner University on Saturday afternoon.
Trinity (7-2) won in straight sets in all six singles
matches, securing the team's fourth consecutive victory.
James Furr improved to 6-2 on the season with his
6-0, 6-1 win at No. 3 singles, while he and doubles partner D.J. Petros
won 8-3 at No. 2 doubles. Petros won 6-2, 6-2 in his No. 2 singles
match, and moved his season record to 4-4.
David Tran and Crisanto Ramirez won at No. 3
doubles to move to 6-3 on the season, while Oliver Gaines and Ryan
DeSantis are now 7-2 at the top doubles spot this season. Gaines
also won at No. 1 singles 7-5, 6-2.
Trinity will conclude its three-match home stand
with a contest against Kenyon College on Wednesday, March. 7. The
Tigers will then have off for Spring Break, returning to action on March
23 with a trip to California. |
